“Great Hotel and Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2009

We were originally booked in Manitou Springs but decided to change to this hotel. I'm glad we did. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was good. Quiet. It wasn't far from Garden of the Gods but I thought it was going to be right across from it which it wasn't. It is convenient to I-25, downtown, the Air Force Academy and restaurants. There is a Village Inn next door, 7Eleven next door and a Black Eyed Pea around the corner. A little distance to Old Colorado City and Pikes Peak Railroad and Manitou Springs. Had a computer in the lobby but had to pay to use it. This put me off a little as all the other hotels we stayed in during our trip let us use the computer for free.

Nice hotel out of town on a main road (rooms are fairly quiet though). The rooms are clean and well appointed and the breakfast is superb (cereals, waffles, bagels, donuts and fruit).

Very convenient for the main roads and Garden of the Gods, but you will need a car to go out to eat.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2009

We spent 9 days at the Quality Inn and Suites and were generally pleased. We were part of an extended family group spread over multiple rooms. My husband and I had a two room suite as we like to have a little more room to move around. The suites are converted adjoining rooms but unlike another review, we did not experience pieced carpet, etc. The carpet looked quite new and fresh in our rooms and everything was very clean. Showers and beds are my next priorities (after cleanliness) and I would have to rate both as "average". The tub/shower had a curved rod for the shower curtain which provided a little more room, but the placement of the upper soap dish put it right in line with my elbow- I whacked it every time I washed my hair. Towels were rather small but very plentiful which we greatly appreciated. The living room area of the suite had a microwave and refrigerator which was a godsend since we had a baby as part of our group and it was very helpful for baby food, etc. (the Mom and Dad had a regular room w/ no fridge). The suites also have 2 full bathrooms which we loved. I don't even have my own bathroom at home! Ask for a room on the west side of the hotel- there is a wonderful view of Pikes Peak which we took full advantage of.
Breakfast got a little monotonous after 9 days, but I do have to say the waffles were tasty and the thick sliced wheat bread made fabulous toast! For the number of guests, the breakfast room is small and was nearly always crowded, but when the weather is good, a small patio area provides overflow.
The staff was wonderful- courteous, polite and friendly. Rooms for returning guests seem to get made up later in the day, which is understandable, but a couple of days we did not get made up at all because by the time they got to us, it was 3:30 or 4 and we had the baby asleep in our room.
I would likely stay again- we were visiting a local organization and it was very convenient to our destination. It's right off I-25 but situated so traffic noise was not a problem. In fact, where we were located, the only noise complaint we had was occasional guest talking too loud in the hallway. We heard no noise through the walls and we were away from the elevators so that was not a problem. It's less than 10 minutes to Garden of the Gods and 15 minutes to downtown.

We had a large, clean and comfortable king room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The room rate included a basic continental breakfast with make-your-own waffles. The hotel is conveniently located near I-25 and there is a Village Inn restaurant right next door that's open 24 hours a day. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. Considering room rates in Colorado Springs, this hotel is a pretty good deal.

The front desk people were always very nice and helpful. There is a nice patio area between the buildings that has a great view of Pike's Peak. The breakfast area was busy but well stocked and was attended by a person behind the counter area. We did have to eat outside one morning since no tables were available. There are restaurants within walking distance that give discounts if you show your room key. This hotel seems to attract bus and van groups. We were located right at the entrance door so we heard too much noise from groups going in and out; ask for a room away from the hallway doors. Otherwise, it was a quiet and safe area. The room was not very large but it was clean and the bedding and mattress were quite nice.

I made my reservations on line without any recommendations from anyone. We had a wonderful experience and I have no complaints whatsoever. The complimentary breakfast was great, the location was very convenient, staff was available and friendly, and the entire hotel was clean and very well maintained. I have previously made reservations via internet and have been disappointed as they were nothing like pictured. We were pleasantly surprised with Quality Inn and plan to stay there again in the future. GREAT VIEW OF PIKE'S PEAK! (We were apartment hunting for my granddaughter who moving to Co. Springs )

The Quality Inn is adjacent to the Clarion (both Choice Hoels) and, while we roomed on the Quality side, the complimentary hot breakfast was served on the Clarion side. Acknowledging that the hotel is an older facility and undergoing remodelling, we had a very nice, attractive suite and delicious breakfast. Yes, the view from 1st floor is of tires in the parking lot (per another review), but we were there to get a good night's rest and spend our days on the road seeing the sights. Our suite had a separate living room and had TV's both there and in the bedroom. The only inconvenience was the small bath with minimal counter space. Solved that by pulling a luggage rack next to the door to hold our overnite case. There were no mysterious odors or highway noises during our stay and the front desk was helpful in obtaining directions and printing our E-tickets when the computers were already taken.
