We saw Hotel San Ayre on here, and decided to stay. We were visting our grandson who lived in Colorado Springs. The staff there was great. Brandi was very welcoming and always had a smile on her face. We got to our room and was impressed with how clean and modern it was. We will continue to book here for our future getaways to the Colorado Springs area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel San Ayre. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed there to rest up before having our baby, and the experience was very comfortable. We were near Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs, but still felt a little removed from the bustle.

The room was beautiful and quaint, and we slept like royalty!

This is the best value, period - not just for Colorado Springs or for a small hotel, but just period. We stayed in a single room one year and made a special point of splurging on the mountain suite the following year.

The beds and linens are very soft and comfortable. The rooms are decorated by the owners, so it feels very warm and personal. I don't think I have stayed in any corporate hotel at all that even comes close to the decor of the rooms.

The owners are good people. They are friendly, and they love what they do. Diana even happily ran our luggage upstairs for us. She also is very helpful for restaurant tips and tips for entertainment. She actually mapped out a jogging, walking route for us as well.

The mountain suite is upstairs, but if you cannot walk up stairs due to health reasons then there is a suite/cottage downstairs as well. The mountain suite is a gem. It has a great deck for enjoying beverages and conversation as well as beautiful views of the mountain. The place is crazy with square footage. If you think it looks good in the pictures on the website, it will blow your mind how much space and utlity you get for the low low rates they charge. There is a big den and a dining area with a formal dining table. There are two bathrooms with tubs. The kitchen is full size (comparable to most apartments but likely bigger than some apartments) with a full refrigerator/freezer, stove and oven, and dishes. There is a fairly large bedroom with a California king and a smaller room with a queen bed - both comfortable as seems to be the Hotel San Ayre standard.

My only lament is that it was too hot to have a fire. THe fireplace looked particularly cozy.

They do not have a breakfast, but the low cost, high value leaves plenty, PLENTY of dough to spend at the great eateries nearby.

Seriously, don't stay anywhere but here.

A delayed birthday get away for two weary souls.
A charming place with oodles of room and lounging
space, a fireplace that complimented an evening
of chit chat and vegging. The San Ayre is rich with history and
the Third Owners have worked to make this a cozy place with
a friendly atomosphere. It will be a steady destination for us in the future.

San Ayre is a great place for those not looking for resort pampering. We wanted a local and easy in and out place and it exceeded our expectations. We felt the location was perfect for all the outdoor activities we wanted. The owners are really helpful for any recommendations you might need for local activities, dining, etc. Great room, modern design, and comfortable bed. This is the perfect "non-chain" hotel.

Called the innkeeper and we met at the property after driving from Roswell, NM.

Great room - wonderful appointments - unexpected details like glass tiles in the bathroom, beautiful wood doors and a high tech heater.
Beds were comfortable and the whole place is well decorated.

They owners have rescued this 1940's era motel and put some love into it.

Owner gave me a great recommendation for taking pictures at the Garden of the Gods.

The San Ayre is very reasonably priced and is in a great location for visiting Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak.
The accommodation itself is fine, but I somehow felt just a little disappointed. Most of the reviews here are glowing (exceptionally good even), however at the end of the day it is just an upmarket motel.
