“Beyond expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

The owner Mike wowed us with his excellent service right from the start. He knew that we were going to Jake and Telly Greek Cuisine, when we got there, the place was fully booked for the night, but then we saw Mike who told us that he had called the restaurant up and informed them that he had two guests coming. What better service can you get elsewhere?

We read the comments from other reviewers. We have to say that the exterior of the hotel is deceptive and nothing like the room itself. The bed is clean and comfortable. each room is beautifully designed, not forgetting to mention an outdoor area for an afternoon rest and views of Pikes Peak.

Our advise is, try this place and don't bother looking at those chain hotels.

We were a bit disappointed after reading the favorable reviews. The hotel WAS clean. The bed was VERY comfortable. The towels were absorbable. Mike was very nice. We were only staying 2 nights on a hiking trip so don't spend a lot of time in a room but, despite having a refrigerator & microwave there was little space to prepare and eat food (breakfast & make sandwiches for lunch). We both travel with computers for our work so with one desk... it was a challenge. We were also "put off" by the location in a less desireable part of town - between Colorado City and Manitou Springs. But, we had no problems. The highway was busy throught the evening and early AM so no nice Colorado sleeping air. Guess we should have looked into the suite. There was a Saveway grocery store across the street. I would probably not stay again.

Room Tip: Sounds like if you need room, try the cottage or the suite.

We stayed here twice and bott times in the suite on the top of the hotel. It was great and having our own private deck looking at the mountains was wonderful. It was nice sitting there in the morning with coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine. Mike and Steve were very helpful with everything.

We no longer go to Colorado Springs yet if we did we would be sure to stay here.

Room Tip: Request the suite rather than a regular room.

We just spent 5 night at this hotel and had a great experience. The room was clean well decorated and very comfortable. There is plenty of parking and even though it is fairly close to the road noise was not a problem for us. There is a nice outback garden area that even has an outdoor fire place if you would like to have a fire. Mike the hotel owner was very accommodating and informative.

We stayed here for a week on our honeymoon and were so happy with choosing this hotel! We were a little unsure pulling up to the hotel and the part of town it was in (ended up being fine, just gives off a weird vibe at first). We stayed in the mountain suite and were so happy. The suite was huge and for the price we were able to stay longer than we thought. The staff was so helpful and gave us all the insider local tips for seeing the most important things. Gorgeous views of the mountains and close to everything. We will be staying here again!

My very first impression of this facility was good and then it just kept getting better. Mike was great via email and phone, and even more accommodating in person. He even brought ice to our room!! The room is minimally decorated in a way that is hip and clean, yet the vintage flare is maintained, right down to the plaster walls and the vintage bathroom sink. Then you add the great geography that places the hotel in Manitou Springs, which is great in it's own right, but enhanced by the close proximity of Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs and so many other beautiful places. If you are bothered by traffic noise, please be patient as the traffic slows down at an early night hour and it's really not as offensive as one other person reported. My only complaint is the absence of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner) and blow drier, but I bet Mike would have supplied these had I asked. If you want a very clean, boutiquish hotel at an extremely affordable price, this is a place for you!! I hope someone I know stays here so we can share our good experience!!

Perfect location, minutes from Manitou Springs,Garden of the Gods,Cheyenne State Park,Old Colorado City and much more. Mike the owner was helpful without being intrusive. We stayed in the Mountain Suite and it was Fabulous! Beautiful view and all the comforts of home. We actually had to leave a day early to avoid hurricane Irene and Mike was courteous enough to credit us.
