This Park has been open for seven years. The beauty of the surrounding is much like the Garden of the Gods which is about 3 miles north. The environment is Montane with numerous trees in the valleys and steep rock cliffs that are composed of sandstone which is intricately shaped by the wind and sea that deposited the formations from 200 to 300 million years ago. Today their are a great variety of wildlife ranging from birds of all types such as eagles, hawks, owls, songbirds and ravens, all types of rodents as well as foxes, coyotes, and larger animals including Mule deer, Mountain Lion and Black bears. The trails are well maintained and extensive. Hiking can be easy to difficult depending on your selection of trail.
