“Bad Service, New Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

New hotel is why we booked it online. A little tuff to find the entrance. Old neighborhood. Kind of scary at night and run down area but with that said it is across the interstate from downtown. Very trendy part of downtown with a lot of restaurants. We informed the desk clerk we were staying 2 nights. He said he could see that even though the reservation showed up as 2 separate reservations of 1 night each. He said he joined the nights together so we would not need to switch rooms after one night. After the first night we were gone all day, came back and our room card would not work. I went to the desk the same clerk was there. He didn't say a word just put my card in a machine, reprogrammed it, and gave it back to me. I went to my room and found my luggage had been packed and my water bottles in the refrigerator were gone. I went back to the front desk. The clerk said "oh yeah". He had forgotten to tell the housekeeping staff we staying 2 nights so they packed our stuff, pitched our water bottles, and took our luggage to the desk. When he came in and saw the luggage he put it back in the room. What happened to "joining" our reservations in the computer? We didn't get an apology, a discount, or our water replaced. There were other people at the desk with problems too. Some were even switching hotels! Had an extra charge on my credit card even though I paid online. I called hotel 3 times before it was corrected.

Room Tip: I happen to like the noise of traffic. If you don't get a room on the parking lot side.

If you are coming to relax this is not the place to stay. The noise from the freeway won't let you sleep. The air conditioner was making this rattling noise. The room assigned started shaking every 15 minutes, which I thought it was an earthquake. The manager said they didn't have any rooms because they are pre assigned! Then he said he was going to switch us the next day and all I had was rude staff telling they were on break. After being so fed up with everything the manager said he was going to put us in another hotel,it was a motel! Are you out of your mind.So not pleased we ended up having to stay in the room we started with. When we got to our room the door was left opened, lucky for us nothing happened. The neighborhood is not the best lots of homeless people around. So think twice before you stay here.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the front of the hotel are less noisier

Hotel is so upscale and clean! Brand new renovations throughout and it smells so good! We were welcomed as IHG platinum members and offered all the amenities that come with that! They upgraded our room to a suite and were so accommodating throughout our entire stay of 3 nights. The location is easy to find off the freeway and so close to downtown with a pedestrian path to walk to the downtown eats and shops. Breakfast had variety, but it isn't extensive or super delicious. It's an express breakfast at an express hotel. The beds were very comfy, furnishings were new, room dimming and darkening shades really help you sleep deep! Quiet rooms with extra sound proofing I think...never heard rowdiness or elevators or vending/ ice....although near there. Just enough workout equipment and a nice indoor pool. Great lobby to sit and visit in several quiet nooks. This hotel is close to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak attractions. Great value and comfort for the location!

Pulling into the parking lot we noticed that the hotel didn't seem to be in the best neighborhood. There were a group of men on a porch directly opposite the parking lot entrance drinking beer, ands some had brown paper bags they were sipping from.

When we got the room it smelled. Bad. I mentioned to the desk clerk and he stated the hotel had only been open a week and it wasn't aired out yet. Okay, give it time, maybe it'll get better.

Although this hotel claims to be in the dowtown area, it is literally on the wrong side of the tracks. You have to cross a bridge to get to downtown. Not far, only a few minutes drive, but to claim it's in the "downtown area" is stretching the word area.

The room we had was next to the highway. Right next to the highway, less than 100 feet away. That meant there was horrendous traffic noise that kept us up all night. Nothing better than semis and motorcycles to keep you awake.

At the free breakfast buffet the next morning there was only a few shreds of scrambled eggs in the pan and the bacon pan was empty. We waited 15 minutes while others complained to the hotel staff, but no food ever came out. There was ceral and yoghurt but that's not breakfast to me.

Room Tip: Get a room as far from the highway as possible or you will regret it.

We stayed one night here as we traveled through Colorado Springs and found it very nice. Very new, probably less than 6 months old and well maintained. The pool was great, the breakfast was fresh and hot and Jonathon (front desk) was very helpful when asked about the mall location. He even printed out map directions for us. Very welcoming. Our room was ultra quiet, clean and the AC worked great! Even though we had a room on the east side, where the highway was, it was very quiet. This hotel is convenient to a lot of things around down town too.
The area around it was a bit seedy but I never felt like we were in an unsafe area of town.
I would definitely stay here again!

Last minute reservation made for this gem. Traveling home through Colorado Springs and booked this on my phone. Easy to find after exit from 25 South. I read that the hotel was updated. It is beautiful. Open layout. The room we stayed in was a Kind bed, large room, and very nice. Friendly reception area and easy access to the downtown area.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for five nights last week, and had absolutely no complaints.
Its location is great for downtown.
The rooms were very good, and there is plenty of parking space in their car park.
As long as you are not wandering about late at night, the area is fine. Saw a few homeless people nearby, but none of them bothered us.
It is also really handy to get onto the highway for Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods etc.
Would highly recommend this hotel for those visiting Colorado Springs.
I would also point out that the desk staff were very helpful and courteous.
All in all, a great start for a new hotel.

Room Tip: We had a suite at the front of the hotel, and it was very quiet.
