“New and clean. Big rooms. Near plenty of food/shopping”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

This hotel is 30 min from garden of the gods, which is why we visited Colorado Springs. Even with that commute, we would stay in this hotel again in a heartbeat. It is very comfortable and extremely clean. We booked a 2 queen suite. When we arrived the staff apologetically told us the two queen suites were unavailable, but they put a roll away bed in our king suite so we would have the same number of beds. This sort of thing has happened to us many time at 2-3 star hotels and most of the time the hotel basically says "tough." So we were thankful that the staff took measures to amend things before we even checked in. The suite are very large. The showers are nice and big. Nice to be near a variety of dining and shopping options.

Just needing a place to stay for a few nights while in route to Breckenridge, we booked this hotel without giving it much thought. All we were looking for was a clean place to stay that offered free parking and breakfast at a good rate. Boy, were we surprised!

The hotel is new, and still smells as if it just opened. Our room was extremely clean, and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable, and the views very nice. The pool is an indoor one. A bit loud because of that, but a non issue for us. Breakfast was hearty, with a great selection.

The drive to the main attractions such as Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods was a little farther than we anticipated, but it truly wasn't that bad (maybe 30 min.). Not to mention, the hotel's location more than made up for it. It is located in the midst of a new shopping district with all the bells and whistles. Tons of restaurants/eateries within walking distance. Also, plenty of shopping avail. as well. Even a new movie theater next door.

All in all, we were very pleased with our choice. Probably the best value in Co. Springs if you ask me. Would def. stay here again!

We were very pleasantly surprised when we drove up to the Holiday Inn Express. It's located in the middle of all sorts of restaurants and shopping. We visited Colorado Springs for Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods, although I didn't realize the hotel was about 30 min from these locations, it wasn't that bad of a drive. The hotel is super clean and we enjoyed our stay. My kids liked the hot breakfast and the pool. My only complaint is that when I asked the front desk for advice on what to do indoors while it was raining, the lady said that she didn't know and she'd only lived there for a year. I was a little disappointed that she couldn't offer any suggestions. We ended up going to Cave of the Winds and to a movie later that night.

This hotel was one of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels we have stayed in. It was in a great location which was within walking distance of a shopping center and plenty of restaurants. The room was spacious and very clean. The only problem I found with the hotel was that it was kinda noisy but we tend to be heavy sleepers so it wasn't too bad. The breakfast was yummy (those cinnamon rolls). There was also a bakery across the street which had AMAZING and reasonably priced food. Overall, if you are looking for a nice and reasonably priced hotel with plenty to do, this is the hotel for you.

We stayed at this hotel while traveling in the area to see Garden of the Gods as well as a bike trip down Pikes Peak. It is a bit out of the way for both of those sights, but is a very nice hotel in a very nice location. It's in a strip mall area with Dicks, Ulta, TJ Maxx, Whole Foods - many other stores and restaurants. It was very clean and the breakfast in the morning was a nice perk.

Room Tip: You might want to ask for a room on the top floor. This was my only complaint. I didn't sleep...

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families, but I think business travelers etc. would be fine. We had no issues with the cleaning etc.

Our room was at the end of the hall. It was early in the night around 8 pm. Our kids were still excited and jumping around. We were trying to calm them down when we got a complaint for noise from people below trying to sleep. A little odd for 8 pm at night, but we understood someone complaining at that point. We basically kept the kids on the beds at that point (aka no hopping or walking even). We get another complaint. Then the next morning the kids were being good just getting ready for breakfast, and we got another complaint. As my husband said the first complaint was completely justified, but the other two were baffling. We have family out of town so we travel with our kids a lot, and have NEVER gotten a complaint before.

I understand the hotel is trying to make everyone happy. This might not be the best match for families if we were getting complaints at the end of the hall for getting ready to go to breakfast, and the kids sitting on the bed at 8pm. In a nut shell, we were very happy to leave this hotel we felt so uncomfortable here.

I also as far as location I wish we would have stayed closer to Manitou Springs. It would have been closer to Garden of the Gods and other sites. As others have stated there are a lot of food options around the hotel since it is in a mall area.

Room Tip: If you have a family and decide to stay here try for the 1st floor and the end of a hall.

This hotel is situated on the corner of and in between newer strip malls. It's walking distance to some restaurants, a movie theater, Whole Foods, Dicks Sporting Goods and more. It's also a very short drive to many other restaurants and stores and not too far from Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak etc. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. Our room was larger than I expected and had 2 tvs which our son thought was pretty neat. Also, we never had trouble finding a parking spot at the end of each day which was really nice. I'd definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel!
