The Blue Star is far more than it appears from the outside. There is a cocktail lounge that has a large menu that is less expensive than the dining room, which has a smaller menu. The choices range from tapas to tilapia to ostrich. Some reviewers have been concerned about cost, but that perspective may depend on where you are from. The quality of the Blue Star is comparable to fine restaurants in large cities, and that was probably the biggest (and most pleasant) surprise. Being from D.C., which does not lack for expensive restaurants, we would certainly go to the Blue Star if it were located here. The hummus as an appetizer was good enough to ask for more. If you're lucky, you may sit next to a local celebrity like L.T., a friendly female for whom L.T.'s shrimp (Thai shrimp, eggplant, peppers, onions and tofu with steamed rice) was named.
