“Recently renovated - A few bugs to work out. Not what I would expect at the Broadmoor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We visited the Golden Bee after the Weekend of Jazz show on 4/6. This was the first day that they were open after a five month remodel. I'll have to say that the place looked first class - the quintessential British Pub. The service was pretty disappointing, however. There was a general atmosphere of confusion and it was 15 minutes before we finally had a drink. We chalked it up to opening day glitches to be worked out.
We went back the next day for a quick bite before the Saturday show. I had anticipated that it would be crowded since it is in the same building (International Center) as the concert. We were delighted that we were seated immediately. Again, it seemed like the entire wait staff was confused. Another 15 minute wait to get a drink. Another long wait to order food and a long wait to get our food. What should have been a 45 minute visit ended up being 1.5 hours. The Fish & Chips were soggy and greasy, but the Chicken Pot Pie was excellent. The waiter apologized profusely and we were very understanding since they had just reopened. We got our bill and found out that somehow the tab for the adjacent table had been placed on our credit card. We were assured that our card had not been charged. When we checked out on Sunday, we followed up with the front desk. We were assured that the matter would be taken care of. I received a follow up call on Monday from a representative stating that the charge had indeed been removed. She asked me about our stay and I told her everything was great except for the issues we had at the Bee which I told her we expected, since the place had just reopened - no big deal. We received an email later that day saying that our meal was complimentary and the charge would be removed from our card. I thought that was very generous and indicative of the Broadmoor's commitment to excellence. I am sure that the issues we had at the Golden Bee will be resolved quickly and it will live up to the Broadmoor's standards!

“Great Beer, Great Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

This place is a kick in the pants and if you participate in the singing and cheering you will leave hoarse, but happy and full.

“Great Pub - Noise, Beer and Sing Along”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

GREAT new addition with outdoor tables upstairs - food is good for a pub but the Bee is about friends, beer, sing along and a fun time. You want food go to the Tavern in the hotel - or the Penrose Room if you want high class. Been going to the Bee since 1972 - never miss a chance to visit!!

“New polish, old charm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This staple of the Broadmoor has been expanded and renovated - it's now gorgeous with outdoor seating, but retains the charm of the old English pub it's always had.

“a fun spot...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

this is a great little tavern, located right outside the hotel main lobby, excellent food, drink, and a relaxing, fun spot to wind down.......
