“Small, mildly fun”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

It's not big but there are some fun, old things to see -- the town, carriages, cars, stagecoaches, the general store, jail, assay office, etc. You'll learn something. My two kids were free, so I thought the price was reasonable overall.

The gold panning wasn't great. The gift shop is well-stocked. Nice people running it.

“Perfect way to spend some down time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Half of our family was having trouble with the altitude so the other half went to the Ghost Town Museum. It was a good way to spend an hour and learn something new. My 10-year old enjoyed panning for gold and it was nice not to be rushed. It it were a rainy day, this would be a good thing to do to get out of the hotel. Some things inside required coins, so bring some along.

“Okay but for younger kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Admission seems a little pricey but what isn't on vacation! Neat to see many of the old carriages, old arcade games, and antiques by building. However, it only took us less than a hour to go through everything. Panning for gold (seasonal) is definitely geared more towards the younger crowd but my husband and teen daughter each tried their hand. Best part of the stop was the 10-minute (or so) video in the theatre of Taming the West. Be sure not to miss it!

“Fun if you have a little free time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This museum is fun if you have about an hour of free time. Make sure to bring quarters because there is a lot of old viewing machines to look at. The gold panning is fun and you can find little pieces of gold if you try hard enough.

“Pricey, not a lot to look at”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

For the price this is not worth it. Very small museum with antiques. It will kill some time, nice gift shop.
