“Top Notch Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

This is a beautiful hotel in a convenient downtown location. But what makes it particularly special is the incredible service by the hotel staff starting with the Valet parking service. Absolutely first rate. We stayed one night. The room was a double queen which was quite large with high ceilings and a large bathroom. The beds are incredibly comfortable, inviting sleep as soon as you lay down on them. Many small restaurants nearby and a great ice cream parlor around the corner. The hotel restaurant is also good if you like cajun food. Their breakfast was amazing - the continental breakfast for one was enough to feed two people. Excellent, trouble-free stay. Would stay there again.

Great getaway! Extremely clean. Tremendous quality from real art on the wall to great service. In the middle of downtown Colorado Springs with lots of activities on the weekend. Not to mention surrounding activities in the mountains.

My wife and I have traveled a great deal and its rare to come across a hotel that hits a home run on all accounts. The Mining Exchange is that hotel. First, the architecture and the building environment is great. Its a historic building but you don't get the historic treatment with slow elevators and needing to use two different elevators to get to different floors.

Second, its clean, quiet and incredibly well located in downtown Colorado Springs! (The Asheville, NC of the west in my opinion). You could easily park your car in the adjacent parking deck for very cheap on the weekends but why would you since you have the nicest valets I have ever come across. When it rained they came with an umbrella.

Third, cost! very affordable. An incredible return on your investment.

Fourth, and finally, the people! Thats really what its about. The staff are phenomenal. The cleaning ladies wrote notes on our note pads and offered us water because they were concerned about the altitude and staying hydrated! the front desk people were incredible. It was a how a business and a hotel should be run.

Stay here. Have a wonderful time.

My second visit. All for business purposes. Check in is easy. Valet parking always stand by. Room is very clean but no view. Bathroom is spacious. Downtown location is convenient. Hotel folks are friendly. Room service menu is limited. AC in room is quite noisy. Hotel bar/ lobby lounge is a plus. Many restaurants around. But food in CS is less than yummy in general after trying almost 20 top trip advisors ranked restaurants so far. Quite a few homeless or mental folks hanging around nearby. Stayed at Room 520 recently and a suite 1 1/2 year ago. Will recommend for business professionals.

The Mining Exchange is a beautiful hotel with a great deal of old-world charm. The public spaces are large and beautifully furnished. Rooms are also spacious (especially the bathrooms). Beds are comfortable with high quality linens. The overall experience was wonderful. This hotel would cost five times as much if it were located in New York or L.A. What a surprise to find such quality in Colorado Springs!
