I've lived in Colorado for a few years, and stayed at several area hotels (including the Hilton Antlers), and there is absolutely no hotel that compares to the Wyndham. Brand spanking new, and it shows! But that's not the only amazing thing about it!
The customer service is phenomenal. The bellhop greeted me at my car, and was so nice/helpful/un-pretentious. He was totally professional yet personable. just perfect (and i normally loathe bellhops!) . The front desk staff were cheerful, helpful, and super nice! The mini-fridge I had requested was waiting in my room. Just absolutely wonderful staff!
The lobby is classy and beautiful. Plenty of comfortable seating, and several groups of young professionals hanging out and enjoying drinks in the lovely lobby.
The other guests were primarily very friendly, young professional types. Everyone I ran into was cheerful and pleasant! Must be the general ambience of this fantastic hotel rubbing off on everyone!
Everything is sparkly new!
The room decor is top notch. Granite everywhere (sooooo clean and gorgeous!) a very large desk/counter space is incredibly functional. Ohhhh the shower. Amazing, tiled, double shower head, hot hot water, fantastic water pressure, clean and sparkly new, with amazing bath/shower products. Robes and slippers??!!!! YES!
The location absolutely cannot be beat. If i planned out a perfect location in colorado springs I couldn't beat this locations. Walking distance to anythign and everything (my favorites are nearby restaurants, Josh and Johns ice cream, and the artsy movie theater right next door!)
If i really, really must think of a negative to this hotel (and I really don't even want to try to think of a negative) the only thing I can say is that the standard rooms are a bit small. But honestly, who cares! the layout is fantastic, and the furnishings are top notch. Did I mention the shower? So really, who cares if the room is a bit small?
The adjoining restaurant is fantastic (Springs Orleans). Not sure how BOTH the hotel and the restaurant have the absolute nicest people working at them, but they do. I charged a delicious shrimp po-boy to my room, and got it to go. yum!!!
The lighting is a little weird, but I actually like it. No overhead lighting, but a total of 6 different lighting options in the room does allow for adequate lighting, and lots of options. Love the ceiling fan, and easy to use thermostat.
Absolutely love this hotel. I travel a lot, and I have been known to be a bit picky about hotels, but this one honestly and easily earned 5 stars. How in the world do they keep their prices so low! This room is worth at least 2-3 times what I paid! Plus free wi-fi!??! phenomenal. There is an $18/day valet parking fee...but there was no pressure to use it, and lots of selfparking in the area.
There are many hotels that could learn a whole lot from the Wyndham Colorado Springs. THIS is how it should be done!!!! I kind of wish I could just live here!
(PS....of note, there is no pool...always important to my kids when I am traveling with them, but with Josh and John's Ice Cream next store, I think I could distract them!)
