“Great value for the $$”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2010

The hotel is located within minutes of a lot of major attractions. Staff was courteous and efficient. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only negative that I have is that guests were allowed to come to the continental breakfast BAREFOOT. UGH! Very unsanitary.

I prepaid $52 including all taxes for nonrefundable, non-changeable reservation a month in advance on Microtel website. I felt that was fair value. My evaluation is this is standard motel; nothing especially good or bad about it; it is average

PROS
Lots of cable channels on TV; reasonably wide screen TV; not LCD or plasma but conventional CRT
Room was clean enough
Breakfast was OK. They have waffles you can make yourself but I was sick so did not try them. Otherwise usual continental fare of danish, muffin, orange juice, cereal, bread, etc.
I was sick so checkout clerk was helpful and though not familiar with this area, looked up phone book to find pharmacy nearby and let me checkout an hour late

CONS
Check-in clerk’s tag said she was in training. I had specifically requested a room with mountain view when making reservation but she refused, saying I would need to pay extra and upgrade to suite for that. Got a lousy view overlooking motel’s AC unit and looking right into Hampton Inn’s room next door.
Furniture is old and not top quality
TV is positioned in a real weird place above storage cabinet at an angle; looks like it will fall off any minute. Hence, can be viewed only from one of the two beds in the room I got on third [top] floor

We got a convention rate so the price was decent. Comfy beds and nice hot tub, but horrible views.

2 adults with 3 kids, 2 dogs. We had a suite with 1 full bed and 1 sofa bed. The pool stayed open until midnight which the kids loved and the staff was great. The breakfast was small but good starter morning choices. Not allt he channels were available on the guide but we didn't watch much tv. We would stay there again. Nice pet fee is $20 per stay instead of daily like some other hotels. Only con was the sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable.

We ended up at the Micro-tel after having left the Days Inn on South Circle because of poor room conditions. Upon checking in we got a suite w/ mountain views that were beautiful. Personel were wonderful, rooms were very clean, breakfast was busy, but the manager helped by making waffles for whomever wanted them. Everything was kept very clean. Will definately stay at other Micro-tels again.

  • Liked — I really enjoyed the window seat in the room. You could sit and look at the beautiful mountains

We spent 5 nights at the Microtel, and it was a nice little home away from home. It's very close to I-25, but we had a room facing the mountains, so traffic noise wasn't an issue.

Room had double bed, and (uncomfortable) pullout couch. There was also a cushioned window seat that our 5-yr-old enjoyed sleeping on.

Room was ALMOST too small for 2 adults and 2 small kids, BUT it did come with kitchen counter, sink, fridge and microwave, which were very convenient for us.

AC worked fine, housekeeping was great, services were convenient, and staff was friendly and helpful. Pool, hot tub and exercise room were all well maintained and enjoyable.

Location was convenient to USAFA, downtown, and mountain activities. Would definitely go back there.

  • Liked — convenience, value, amenities
  • Disliked — size of room, small dining area

Stayed one night. The hotel is located close to the interstate. The hotel is average but had air conditioning problems.
