“Good Place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2011

I have stayed here many times during the past two years and find it as a good place to stay. I have stayed in rooms that face the mountains and away from them. The pro of rooms facing towar the mountains is the obvious scenic beauty but the con is that trains can wake you up in the middle of the night with their honks. The food at Judge Balwins is good, the breakfast buffet is elaborate and stay is very friendly.

Room Tip: If you don't care about the mountains, take a room facing the downtown at a high floor so that y...

ok - so I live nearby, but when my hubby and I like to go to the Pikes Peak center, it's nice to stay nearby at a place we can walk to, instead of fighting to find a parking place during an event.

First of all, the place is OLD, so don't expect it to be really shiny and new. We always spend extra for a corner mountain view room, and hope for a junior suite upgrade. there's room to spread out. this is a luxury spot and a bit pricey, depending on time of year, etc. This is the place we go to for relaxing. it's nice to stay in the room, and not have to go anywhere, or do anything, just read, look out the window and eat. no agenda, no "things" to do around the house.

the room service is nice, but the menu is limited and it's pricey.

I really liked the soak in the hot tub, the pool was very cold, I expected it to be a bit warmer.

it's nice to stay in downtown area and walk to some of my favorite restaurants.

Room Tip: if you can afford it - upgrade to a mountain view corner room, or a junior suite.

Antlers Hilton is located in downtown Colorado springs. It's a perfect choice for anyone wanting to be close to all things downtown. The Pikes Peak Center is only a block away and it's only one street over from Tejon which has all types of restaurants and stores. Every year we stay there for a weekend while we attend Christmas parties for my husbands work. They have an awesome pool, fitness center and an amazing Sunday brunch. Their regular breakfast is great too. There is on street parking, valet parking or self parking located in a garage under the hotel. There is a bar in the Palmer Center complex which is where the Antlers is located, called Judge Baldwins. We typically meet for drinks/happy hour with friends while staying there. They have decent appetizers and drinks. We enjoy it because it's not as loud as most places around there. Downside is it closes at 11. Never heard of a bar closing that early... If you choose to stay at the Antlers you will not be disappointed. Everyone there is very warm and welcoming. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. That's why we come back year after year. It's our home away from home.

Room Tip: The mountain view rooms are worth the price. The view of Pikes Peak is breathtaking. While the corne...

Hilton Hotel? Do not stay here! Front desk lady did not know what she was talking about. Another worker took me aside to give me advice. This place is old. We had a room on the 11th floor facing downtown. The room was very small as well as the bathroom. Only 1 person could fit in the bathroom at a time. No bath tub, only a stand up shower. The coffee maker jammed into the bathroom on the sink. No refrigerator or microwave. Expensive parking, restaurant only open for breakfast and Sunday brunch or it is the sorry lounge. There was only a lap pool and a hot tub that only holds 6 people.

In all, the better place to stay is the other Hilton family hotel, the Doubletree Hotel Colorado Springs World Arena. It is just a little further down the interstate, less expensive, it has very big rooms and bathrooms, microwave & refrigerator, free parking, free chocolate chip cookies, a restaurant, entertainment, a real pool that is twice as big and a hot tub that hold 20 people.

Room Tip: Do not stay here. That is the tip.

Stayed for 2 nights in November on business. Large impressive hotel just in down-town area.

Large imposing lobby and friendly staff, rooms just about okay - a little tired and dated.

Main restaurant okay but service at breakfast really very slow, ordered cooked food and toast - toast arrives 5 minutes after the rest and it wasn't busy - is it really that hard?

Attached bar pretty good - reasonably priced food and really good selection of local micro ales.

Lobby coffee bar only open to 11am and really pretty poor - serving everything in take away cups despite the fact we were obviously sitting in the lounge area.

Overall it was okay but that's not really enough is it? Service and overall offering just average.

Let's start off with the fact that this Hotel is in a great location with some of the best possible views of the Rockies one can find. The grounds and hotel are kept very clean but the rooms need a major remodel to make this Hilton Property a Solid 3 Star Show Again. We loved the corner king suite with the many window opportunities. The new flat screens were nice as well but the wall paper peeling and the 90's furnishings do bring the rating down in my book. The pool is excellent and the Hotel itself could be down right awsom with a remodel. I have to recommend the property if staying in a center location but Hilton you must know that the Crowne Plaza property and the Marriott both have a leg up on you only do to their nice rooms. Your property beats theirs but your rooms lack the appeal that those have. Consider this an honest review and a person who wants the Antlers back to it's prime.

Room Tip: Ask for a Mountain View and HIgh Floor....

Stayed the Antlers Hilton on a late-October Saturday. This one-night stay was part of a (hopefully) romantic mini-getaway for myself & my spouse. I had reserved a corner mountain-view king room and prepaid via Travelocity. Upon checking in and opening the room door I was mildly disappointed by what I saw. This was not the "special" room I had envisioned for us. This was an average-size room that was indeed on the corner of the hotel. It did have a king bed, as promised. However, there was no "foyer," or little entrance area; the bathroom was small, with old fixtures; and there was no vanity area outside the bathroom. My mild disappointment became major when I opened the curtains to see that my "mountain view" was actually a view of the interstate highway, trees and the heating/cooling structures of the hotel, which were right in front of our windows. This was a fourth-floor room, and when contacted, the desk staff stated that there were no other rooms in the hotel available. Also, I had prepaid through an outside booking service, so no adjustments to the rate could be made. The desk staff was courteous and offered a complimentary meal or drinks to help make up for our dissatisfaction. (We took them up on their offer of drinks.) The takeaway lesson here is that this is an older hotel, with smaller rooms, somewhat in need of updates. And if you would enjoy a "mountain view," make sure you're high up in the tower, or you may be paying for a view you're not actually getting.

Room Tip: Do not bother with a "mountain view" room that's not above the 6th floor. If you prep...
