“Top Notch! Simply amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

There is not one bad thing I could say about this property at all! Simply amazing stay.

Upon arrival, the desk staff was extremely friendly. They introduced themselves by name. They asked why I was staying in Colorado Springs. When I told them I was in town for a figure skating competition at World Arena, they immediately told me the fastest way to get to the arena from the property (the hotel sits next to I-25 offering quick access to anywhere in Colorado Springs) as well as offering additional places of note in the area. The check-in process was seamless, quick, and extremely professional.

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast daily with the stay and also offers appetizers in the evening on Monday - Thursday. While I was never at the hotel during the appetizers, the breakfast was great. Good selection of breakfast foods, Starbuck's coffee, tea, juices, milk, fruit, cold cereal...you name it was available. The lady that worked at breakfast was very sweet.

While each hotel is set up as an extended stay facility with living area, kitchenette, etc.; the hotel still offers daily cleaning and refresh service. The rooms look very new, extremely modern decor, and are very clean and comfortable. A full sized living area, desk workspace, kitchenette with full size refrigerator, dish washer, microwave, stove, and sink, full bathroom, huge walk-in closet, large flat screen tv that swiveled from living area to sleeping area that boasted the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Also, while this is an extended stay facility, the clients staying at the hotel all seemed to be business or professional travelers. The facility itself is in a very nice part of Northern Colorado Springs right next to the Technology Park. IT's also very close to great shopping centers, restaurants, and convenience stores.

The stay was amazing, I travel frequently and this is the best place I've stayed all year!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms are very large with a separate sleeping area and living area. There is a nice desk in the living area for working. I did not use the kitchen area but it looked nice. The couch in the living room was really comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. I did not hear any train noise from my room but the heater/AC was loud, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom was good sized with quality towels and shampoo etc. The linens on the bed were also very comfortable. The breakfast was fairly extensive with lots of choices and good coffee. Good internet connection also.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post about your recent stay with us. We truly appreciate feedback from our guests and it sounds like you enjoyed your one bedroom king suite. I apologize if the noise from the A/C unit had any impact on your stay. If you don’t mind, could you give us a call (719)268-9990 or contact me via email so we can find out what room you stayed in to have maintenance look at the unit.

Again thank you for time and positive response.

Reviews of this place are generally very positive, and deservedly so. There is the rare complaint about noise - which is likely very valid for some rooms. How to prepare yourself for an enjoyable stay here"

1. Complaints about noise from the railway track may be valid (and important unless you sleep like a log) if your room is on the eastern side of the hotel. Check this Wikimapia image map:
http://wikimapia.org/#lat=38.9146447&lon=-104.8229706&z=18&l=0&m=h
In the image map the hotel has the blue roof - the cursor in the center of the image map sits on the swimming pool in the central courtyard of the hotel. The grey strip ~50 meters to the east of the hotel, just off the parking lot, is a railway line that has fairly heavy traffic, including coal trains. We were on the SW corner of the hotel and could hear the trains - but they were not a bother for us in our location. But if you get the less costly suites (without separate bedroom) you may find yourself on the eastern side of the hotel, facing the tracks. You may wish to ensure that you're not assigned a room over there - unless you won't be disturbed by such noise (which is considerable, particularly when the trains are northbound, climbing the (modest but real) railway slope next to the hotel.

2. The hotel is a great value compared to more expensive suite hotels. However, corners that were cut in hotel construction (cheap structure - such as kitchen cabinets and closet doors), make me wonder about the long-term viability of this hotel. (Think of Fairfield Inn vs. "real" Marriott when you think of Summerfield Suites vs. "real" Hyatt?) The cabinets in our kitchen (with apparently cheap "euro-style" doors) have already been painted over (what rapid aging process caused that to be done?) - and the paint is chipping away already.

3. On the other hand, furnishings such as bedding and kitchen furnishings are of reasonable-to-high quality. You should be comfortable in your room. Bring your laptop with Netflix streaming video account, and hook it to the TV with a HDMI cable (bring one with you) if you'd like to go that route. At least, that was possible in our room. Some hotels charge some patrons extra for WiFi - it's apparently gratis for all guests here. The double-pane windows are supplemented by storm windows (making them effectively triple pane windows) open if you want them to, for good climate control (particularly facing away from the railway tracks).

3. Breakfast is not so sumptuous as at some other suite hotels. However, it was NOT merely sugar-laden donuts and danish, diluted only by coffee and juice. There are no eggs-to-order or waffles-to-order stations. But plain omelets, meat (e.g. bacon or sausage), french toast or waffles, a modest choice of breads, fresh and cut fruit, cereal, a choice of coffees and teas, etc. laid out buffet-style.

4. The evening refreshments (though only on Mondays-Thursdays), can constitute a moderate meal. A menu is posted in your room - and rotates on a 2-weekly basis. The nacho bar was better than this might imply, as was the spinach and artichoke dip and "fixins". So, after a fashion, you have two meals included in your room rate.

5. It might be worth noting that our room appears to have had a renovation since most TA and hotel Website photos were taken. Our kitchen cabinets have been painted (to cover hp what?) and the paint already showing signs of wear. The electric coil cook top in TA and hotel Website photos was replaced by a nice, clean, electric ceramic cook top (see our photo).

Our stay was very enjoyable - and yours can be too, if you position yourself well to avoid the noisy side of the hotel.

Room Tip: The east side, near the railway tracks, may be noisy. These seem mostly to be the "studios&quo...

We've stayed in 5 different Colorado Springs hotels over the last 18 months....all of them in the 3 Star catagory. This hotel is also a three star, but is better than the others we've stayed in. First, check in was easy and the staff friendly. We got a room with a view to the south, near the train tracks. The room was a suite with a separate bedroom, two tvs, a kitchenette with full size refrigerator, plates, utensils, etc. The bed was a bit firm, but otherwise fine. The walls are thin; not enough to hear conversation, but you knew when they showered. Trains pass the hotel every hour 24/7. They aren't loud, but you can hear/feel the slight rumble as they go by. If you're a light sleeper, get a room away from the east side of the hotel. Frankly, it didn't bother us. The breakfast was quite good. Fruit, yogurt, sausage or bacon, breads, and egg dish, cereals, juices and coffee...all the normal breakfast items. We weren't around for the evening reception, so I can't comment on that. The health club consists of two stationary bikes, an elip trainer, dumbells and two treadmills. Not fancy, but the equipment was in good shape. (Just don't lift a dumbell above your head and take out the fan!) The pool was covered for the winter.
The staff were all very personable. We'd be happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: Interior rooms (i.e. facing pool) are probably quieter. Train tracks on east side of property are b...

WE were looking for the best place we could go cheap and get away for teachers convention the end of October. We found cheap airfare to Denver and drove to Colorado Springs. The Hyatt Summerfield Suites was fantastic in almost every way. I'll save the one negative for last. Our room came with a small kitchen that we could cook in or just use the microwave and fridge. THe couch was huge and comfortable. THe location was easy to come and go from and the staff were super! We really enjoyed it! THe negative was the bed. It is a pillowtop mattress and the area next to the dresser had been sat on too much. It sagged greatly and was uncomfortable to sleep in. I had to put a pillow in the divot to keep from rolling into it.

Room Tip: ASk for a room with mountain view. It was beautiful and quiet. We didn't hear the train but it d...

Hotel is located close to railroad track and interstate. Train shake the whole building. Interstate traffic loud as well. Ear plug does not help. We left early since it could not tolerate loudness. Service was great.

What a great place to stay. The staff was pleasant, the hotel was quiet, and the ammenities were wonderful. My husband is actually staying there due to business and has been very pleased. We went out to visit for a few days last week. During out stay we thought that the breakfast is enough to fill anyone who is ready to head to work or to head out for some outdoor fun. We also enjoyed the evening social hour which provided food and beverage. On the first snowfall this week, my husband went out to his car to find it had already been brushed off. That is a great way to start any work day!
