“Great View of the Mountains!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2011

I stayed here while attending a conference in Colorado Springs. It was a very nice clean hotel. The location was good, it was easy to find, right off the highway and not far from attractions like the Garden of the Gods. The staff of the hotel was very friendly.

We stayed here for two nights regarding a function at Colorado College. While it was a short drive from the college, it was not too long and the price for hotel made up for any driving. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The workout room was good as well. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and they seemed a bit distracted and did not let us know what was going on with the buffet (cooks not there, etc.). We would stay here again.

I've stayed here for a reception. It is a decent place, with great views and decent rooms. One thing to be aware of is that the walls in the hotel rooms are paper thin.
I would consider staying here again for business, but not for pleasure.

Room Tip: get a room with a mountain view

We are seasoned travelers (business and personal), and this is the first time we have reviewed anything, and it's unfortunate, because we've had some great experiences. Not this weekend.

This Marriott is not family or kid friendly, and their customer service (especially the overnight manager/staff) is downright rude. We brought our 8-month old out to the Springs with us. Like clockwork, he woke up at 5:30 for his AM feeding and fussed less than 4 minutes (the time it took us to get up and get him and bottle ready). In that time, there was a security guard at the door telling us that they had received a complaint, and this was our first "warning".

I (Dad) went down in person to the front desk to ask what this meant, and the overnight desk person (I assume manager) stated that she was sorry, this was our first warning, and a second "warning" meant that we would be EVICTED!! Really?! She offered for us to change rooms, however our baby was guaranteed to fuss the next AM.

We did make this right (however no apology from any staff member) and they moved us to a room without other guests on the top floor (most hotels do this automatically for a family with a baby), so to be fair we felt better about nights #2,3)...however when we checked out with 5 bags, carseat and baby in tow, guess who was on duty? She never asked how our stay was, and no offer of assistance with bags or directions.

We will never stay at this hotel again, and as far as the companies we work for in the Springs, we will do everything we can to make sure families who have kids know our story before they stay there!

Thank you for your comment and I apologize for the circumstance. Noise is the number one complaint for Marriott hotels. We did have a number of other guest complain due to the crying coming from this guest's room. Often in this situation pleasing all guest involved is not possible.

On a stay in Colorado Springs to check out the area for possible retirement, we selected this hotel because we enjoy the friendliiness and professionalism of Marriott Hotels. This one did not disappoint, and we would definitely stay here again. It is a giant tall hotel up on a hill to the right you can spot as you near the Garden of the Gods area (about one exit north from it) traveling into the area on I-25 South. Our first worry about the hotel was that it would be too hard to get into town when we wanted, as the hotel is rather on the outskirts. However, we soon discovered that their shuttle would take you anywhere, and on little notice. Clarence, the shuttle driver was so courteous and friendly we were tempted to invite him to dine with us! He promptly returned to pick us up after our dinner out. Besides this shuttle service, we especially enjoyed the view from our room (Room 621) of Pike's Peak (you do have to ask for a mountain view if you would like it), and our breakfasts. The cook loved to prepare special omelettes and was very attentive to anything we wanted both mornings. There were many other amenities we did not have time to take advantage of, including a generous pool set in well-landscaped grounds (in addition to an indoor pool on the 2nd floor.) .

Room Tip: Ask ahead for a mountain view, near the top of the hotel.

Very pretty well appointed rooms, ours was on the top floor, so we had a marvelous view of the foothills. The room was not huge, but it was very well appointed and had everything we needed including a large flat screen TV. The bed was very comfortable and had wonderful squishy pillows, just perfect for a luxurious night's sleep. Also, the walls seemed very well insulated as I didn't hear much of the normal hotel hall noise or neighbor noise at all. Maybe we were just lucky, but I think not.

My husband and I travel to Colorado Springs once a year for a week of vacation. This is by far the best Marriott property in CS. I have to say, I did enjoy my stay a lot more last year than I did this year because I just did not sleep well this time. This is a nice property set in a business area of town. There are no restaurants nearby but there are many just a short drive away. The restaurant in the hotel offers a variety of foods but it was closed the one night we wanted to eat there. The gentleman at the bar informed us that a few of the staff didn't show that evening. The housekeeping staff is remarkable. Our room was clean and I mean clean each and every day. When the hotel is full it is noisy, especially the lobby and bar area. The lobby is very well appointed and the fireplace was a nice touch on a cloudy, rainy day! I did ask for a quiet room and was given a room right next to the elevator, next to a meeting room and below the concierge lounge. The front desk super offered to move us but we were settled in and decided to stick it out which was a big mistake. It was very noisy. I wish they had accommodated our request upon check in. We did have a very nice view of Pike's Peak and saw snow up there the day after the rain/snow storm. I swam in the indoor pool every morning for exercise while my husband used the exercise room. Both were nice. The pool was warm some morning and some mornings it was pretty chilly but overall a great experience. We sat out by the outdoor pool one day and by the time we left the profterty all the chairs were put up and the gate was locked. Oh and if there is a wedding or an event going on this Hotel does cater to them before vacation travelers. We asked for a fridge and were provided one, there's a coffee maker in the room. Overall I would stay here again but I was a little disappointed that we were not offered anything for our noisy stay. We drove up to Rocky Mtn Ntl Park which was quite a drive but well worth the drive. Garden of the Gods is beautiful, we visited the zoo and the Air Force Academy. All worth the time ;)
