We booked last minute through Trip Rewards and ended up getting lost trying to find the hotel. It turns out this had been a Ramada Inn until the day before so the original Travelodge started giving me directions there and then told me I didn't have a reservation! When I got it straightened out with Trip Rewards and finally found my way to the hotel the front desk clerk was really nice.

Our bathroom was not very clean and there were few towels. We had to get the front desk clerk to clean the tub, as there had been a back up in sewage from the restaurant and there were pebbles in the tub. I had a drainage problem with the tub again in the morning and spent 20 minutes plunging the tub to get the drain to work (thank goodness there was a plunger nearby!). For this I was offered a $10 discount...

The pool was not incredibly clean and you have to pay a $5 deposit for towels. There were a lot of loud guests around our room, as well.

The breakfast area was tiny, and difficult to navigate around the small smattering of tables, and included a couple of cereals, juice, coffee, milk, toast and danishes.

The price was alright, but I don't think I'd stay again.

I ended up staying here due to a Priceline bid. Priceline rated this a 2 star property. I would give it one at best. The motel is in a pretty sketchy neighborhood. We were given a room on the second floor. We arrived during a snowstorm and had to lug our suitcases and a bag of hockey gear up slippery, snowy stairs. There is no elevator and when I asked for a ground floor room, given the fact that we had so much to carry, they refused. There was something wrong with the doors. It took us about 10 minutes of standing out in the freezing weather to get the door to actually work. This happened everytime we returned to our room.

When we got to our room, we were shocked to find that it was about as cold inside as it was outside. The heater was located far from the beds and was really small and inadequate. Even though we turned it on full blast, it took several hours to warm up to a reasonable temperature. There were no extra blankets in the room. There was no trash can near the bathroom. The sheets were dirty on one of the beds. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. We went down 15 minutes late to breakfast and asked if we could just get a banana or apple, but they refused.

The whole place looked run down and in need of a serious remodel.

I have never stayed at a Ramada Inn before. I have always found them to be dismally plain. When I travel I like character and uniqueness in a hotel. Unfortunately, after driving my relatives moving truck across five states, I found myself in an unfortunate situation.

We had waited until to late in the afternoon to find a hotel room seemingly anywhere in Colorado Springs. I called several places and they were all booked because of an influx of troops arriving back from Iraq and a soccer tournament. We checked all the hotels closest to the airport hoping to find one with a shuttle that had rooms available, but to no luck. This was also a day with incredible, record-breaking heat. Needless to say, after driving around the area drenched in sweat, I was delusional and famished enough to agree with my traveling partner that we indeed needed to reside at a location with a pool. Immediately next to this Ramada Inn was a cheesy old hotel with a sign advertising a pool. We passed the Ramada and I glared at its sign with disdain and smirked knowing we were going to pay much less money for the same sized pool. As is characteristic of my luck, the said hotel's pool was empty. $#&@!

I forced us to remain in the oven-on-wheels until we found something that was not a recognizable name in the hotel business, but that had a pool. No such luck. We stopped at the Super 8, figuring it would at least be cheaper than the Ramada, but they were all booked; though I would like to thank the guy from the Super 8 for giving us tips on where to look.

I was forced to give in to the national chain, and I am not at all sad that I did. While I will likely never stay at the Ramada again, solely because I enjoy old-style themes and funky neon signs, I would like to say that my stay with them was great and extremely appropriate for the town we were in. First of all, they only had two rooms left when we arrived. The woman quoted us a price for the AAA discount and abruptly lowered that price by five more dollars when we agreed. She gave us a paper, some details about the room and was courteous and friendly all evening when we went back to her for information and pool towels. The room had a microwave, refrigerator and hairdryer. My only complaint is with the fact that the air-conditioner was directly next to the bathroom or as far as one could get from the bed/seating area, therefore it was hardly efficient unless you stood next to it. Oh, but the pool was wonderful.

Overall, this experience was much less painful than I had anticipated. Though my choice to never go back is based on a demented personal preference, I certainly would think others, especially those with children, would find the Ramada pleasurable and accomadating. I would like to express my gratitude to the woman at the desk for making our day end on a postive and relaxed note.

We stayed at this hotel to be closed to the Dance competition that my daughter had participated at the City Auditorium. Boy! Did I regret it. We asked for a non-smoking room but clearly this room was used for smoking many many times before because everything in the room stink with smoke. We were in such a hurry to get back to the competition that we didn't have time to ask for another room when we checked in. By the time we got back, it was very late and by then all the rooms are full.

All our clothes and even bags smell like smoke when we left there. The air fan was blowing air smell with smoke that make it even worse. Never again will we come back to this hotel. I've stayed in other Ramada Inns before but this is clearly the worse and totally bring down the quality of Ramada.
