“The Lodge at the Garden of the Gods Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Beautiful, spacious, comfortable, clean room with a fantastic view of Kissing Camels. Great service good food and a fun golf course.
The Lodge also has a super spa (April gives the best massages), a great tennis facility and childrens's activities.
Rarely give any place 5 stars, but the Lodge at the GGC deserves every one of them.

We stayed at the ‘Lodge at the Garden of the Gods’ for 7 nights. This facility is a 5 star country club resort, where you can enjoy golf, tennis, reasonably priced gourmet dining, and a adult’s only heated, salt water, infinity, pool overlooking the Garden of the Gods Park with Pikes Peak in the background. Room amenities we appreciated included: a large walk in closet, separation of dressing and bathing rooms, double sinks, robes, flat screen tvs in both the BR and LR, a automatic gas fireplace in LR, a coffee bar with glasses and a refrigerator, a private deck with table and chairs plus scenic views. The lodge location is very convenient to all the tourist’s attractions of Colorado Springs. The staff here is exceptional at making you feel special, being helpful and attentive to your every need. You won’t lay down at the pool without the attendant bring you a glass of ice water and whatever food and drink you care to order. The pastry chef has been with the hotel for more than 20 years, and the flaky croissants are incredible. Everything from sandwiches to gourmet dinner is available in the bar and restaurant. Their Italian chef served a buffet style extravaganza meal for about $18 on Thursday night. The are other specials on different nights.

We had a problem at check in – no room availability- as our printed 7 night, prepaid reservation was not in their system. This is attributed to booking by following Trip Advisor links to “Hotels.com”, which is linked to Expedia. Recommendation for this and other bookings: Get the best hotel prices from Trip Advisor, then CALL THE HOTEL DIRECTLY and ask the hotel to match the price. Direct hotel reservations put you in the Hotel’s system. Lodge Hotel managers Derek Douchinisky, and Garfield Humpal, were very apologetic for the problem and compensated our loss by providing us a suite in a Marriott for 2 nights, covering our breakfast and dinner when we returned, giving us 1 night free, and reduced rates for 2 additional nights stay. We were totally gratified and satisfied by this compensation. We got a 2 nights refund from Hotels.com after 2 weeks and 2 calls with personnel with hard to understand India accents.

Room Tip: North side rooms have the best views.

Gardens of the Gods is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen - rooms and public areas, including the pool, take full advantage of the view. Rooms are huge, plain, but the view and patio make up for it. Drink menu is pretty pricey, and breakfast was frankly disappointing. Be sure to check your bill - tip is automatically added.

Allow yourself time to enjoy the views at the Lodge and then take advantage of Colorado Springs' area great restaurants elsewhere!

Sadly, we only had a one-night stay. All of the rooms face the Garden of the Gods and have a balcony, and the views of the rock formations are amazing. The room we stayed in was quite spacious, with two queen beds, a small sofa and table, and a separate dressing area with fridge, coffee maker, closet and two sinks. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. The grounds include a reflecting pool and a nice lawn - the only pool that would accommodate children was a short drive away, and we were too tired to take advantage of it. We had a late dinner at the bar in the hotel, which again had lovely views, and a kids' menu. (The restaurant was a lot more formal, with a dress code.) As we left early the next morning, we all said we had to return and spend more time here!

When you think of resort, many things come to mind. Disney, Cancun, Vegas - these places are all mega-fantasy loud boisterous resorts. You go there to whoop it up. The Lodge at Garden of the Gods Club is on the other end of the spectrum. It's classy, elegant, but nonetheless magnificent. Each room boasts sweeping views of the striking red rocked Garden of the Gods fronting Pikes Pike. Stepping out on your balcony or patio in the morning is truly an awe-inspiring experience. The rooms are spacious, with walk-in closets, mini-fridge, dressing table and additional space for a sitting area and sofa. The tennis courts are top notch, as is the golfing. There is so much to do in Colorado Springs, this hotel makes a super home base for exploring all the region has to offer.

Room Tip: Love the ground floor rooms as you have patio access.

Usually when something seems too good to be true, it usually is. So I was very skeptical when I booked a week for my family on our first vacation to colorado. The price seemed too low to be that good. I cannot tell you how wrong I was. This has to be one of the most magnificent hotels I have ever been in. The views are amazing, as well as the room. We paid under $200 a night for a huge room, fireplace, walk in closet, spacious bathroom, and balcony. The staff was extremely friendly and offered many suggestions for where to visit. My kids (6 and 10) loved the pool and mini sprinkler park. There really were only two negatives but since everything else was so phenomenal, they were really a non issue. The first was the pool. There isn't a family pool on site so you have to drive about 5 min away to get there...there also is no indoor pool so if you feel like swimming later in the night or if the weather is bad, you're out of luck. The second is that the food service was a little slow. For my wife and I it was fine, but when you have two hungry kids, the wait was a little lengthy. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!! Thanks for a wonderful time.

I stayed at the gorgeous lodge the night of our wedding ceremony. The front desk staff was funny and very accommodating (thanks Molly). We got a couples massage, enjoyed the adult only pool area, and the king suite with spectacular views (2nd floor, across from the tennis courts). Also the breakfast combo offered when booking was an excellent deal. We had breakfast in bed with that amazing view.

However, we were given a credit from family as a gift. We used this credit towards our stay and our bill at check out reflected that credit off our total bill. My credit card was charged the full amount. I called Garden of the Gods front desk and left voice-mails for management and the Accounting/billing dept. I also reported the dispute with my credit card company. Then I attempted to contact management by filling out a contact form I did not hear back from anyone at the resort. My credit card company was able to reach them and returned my money. Then 2 MONTHS later I was billed AGAIN! Now I'm in the process of furthering my investigation with the credit card company and filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I attempted to contact Garden of the Gods for the 5th time to resolve this issue without going to these extremes but did not get a return call.

This (and other reviews) is my last attempt to reach Derek (manager) or Josh (accounting admit) since Claire (Accounting Director) could not resolve this issue. Management, please respond to this message.

EVERYONE be aware that this could happen to you...easily.
