"The Lodge at the Garden of the Gods" is absolutely wonderful! I flew into Denver, rented a car and drove to Colorado Springs- well, first I must say that the morning I was to fly in, the fires started there, so I called to see if any of the roads were blocked. The woman who answered the phone was extremely polite and reassuring that everything would be ok.
The politeness continued throughout the visit there. (There was one woman at the front who was a teensy bit snobby, but I heard that she was evacuated from her home, so needless to say, this was on her mind.)
The room was spectacularly clean, quite spacious and full of the amenities you'd expect; shower cap, shampoo, lotions, etc.
ALL the rooms face the garden of the gods, and watching the sun set over them was breathtaking.
Also, I was treated to a special show by three rabbits and a few deer on the lawn right below my balcony. This was really cool.
I swam that afternoon in the salt water pool (I don't normally care for salt water pools, as they tend to dry out my skin, and I was already in a dry climate) so I didn't stay in there too long. The pool has a view of the garden of the gods as well. Also, this is an infinity pool, which I didn't quite understand the meaning of until I got in. The side of the pool has the water falling beneath and then I assume recycled. That was kinda cool.
I didn't take advantage of anything else the hotel has to offer, but they do have a spa and a restaurant.
