“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

We stayed for 6 nights at the Garden of the Gods club In April during business at the space symposium. We loved everything about the place and will definitely go back on our next visit to Colorado Springs. We took this amazing, scenic route to the convention every day and avoided the thousands fighting for parking and food service at the other hotel. The Garden of the Gods was a great escape. The view of the Gardens, from your room, is Magnificent! On our first day, we were met by 8 deer grazing right our side our patio door. We did order room service and also dined at the restaurant. We found both to be excellent in service and quality. I was impressed by the maid's personal service enough to leave a generous tip. We travel bi monthly for business and pleasure and have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels. The Garden of the Gods now ranks as one of our favorite, Quiet places to stay while working.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the Garden of the Gods Park.

Have stayed at The Lodge several times before, always at the Golf Villas. This time stayed at The Lodge for two days before moving over to the Golf Villas for three days with others in a group. The views of The Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak from the Lodge can not be beat, and other reviews mentioning the deer are spot on. The deer and rabbits are part of the GOG family. Lunch on the deck can not be beat. We have stayed at the Golf Villas for many years as part of a Colorado College reunion group and are really sorry to see them go. A really wonderful place to be with friends in a great environment.

4 Stars for the staff. Everything that we needed or asked for was provided, graciously.

We are grateful for the Groupon special which afforded us a lovely getaway at a discount.
The lodge is lovely, situated on beautiful grounds with views of Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods from every room.
We were quite pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of all lodge staff, particularly Kyle when booking the reservations and Kemper during check in and out. Kemper also offered dining recommendations which were quite helpful. (DO NOT miss an opportunity to dine at the Blue Star restaurant, which he highly recommended; it is fantastic!)
We did not see any other rooms, but ours was wonderful. In addition to a king-size bed, there was a small table with two chairs for dining, a desk, plus a sofa and coffee table.
The closet was huge, plus two vanities (his and hers), plenty of drawer and cabinet space, a small fridge and coffee maker for coffee or tea.
The only reason five stars is not awarded here is due to the overcooking of the breakfast food on every morning (of three), in spite of requesting in writing on the order menu that they please do not overcook the food.
With the Groupon special we were limited to the sunrise breakfast choice of eggs, bacon or sausage, with fruit, hash browns or grits, fresh orange juice or coffee, and a choice of toast or English muffins. One of us has dental issues which do not allow chewing anything hard. The bacon was nearly burned with blackened edges and so hard it was impossible for one to chew. Same with the English muffins. The eggs were also way overcooked. In my opinion, this is kitchen staff not paying attention to important details at a time when the lodge was nearly empty and they were not overwhelmed. No excuses for that for a property of this class.
Another small inconvenience is the extreme sensitivity to the door key cards. Twice we had to return to the front desk for them to be re-keyed. Staff said on multiple occasions that they are quite sensitive and it is a constant problem, especially if the cards are held near phones or credit cards, which was not the case for us. Just a minor issue here.
Overall, it is a lovely property, with very friendly staff, and plenty of options for relaxation and fun. While we did not play golf or tennis, visit the spa, use the fitness room or swim in the outdoor heated pool, those options are available every day to anyone. Next visit we definitely shall take advantage of those options.
We were delighted to see rabbits and deer near our building, and even a huge buck who is said to visit the property every Sunday and Wednesday. He was not at all frightened by passersby and allowed his photo to be taken from a distance.
When we travel we expect a rather spacious, quiet room with good beds, plenty of hot water and a decent TV. We received all that and more and are quite grateful for the lodge experience in mid-October when weather was perfect and the lodge not completely full.
Definitely would recommend the property to others and we shall hope to return again one day.
Thanks to everyone at the lodge for a terrific fun getaway!

We stayed 5 nights, hiked the area (including the trek up Pikes Peak) and had a wonderful time. The Club accommodations were terrific. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and I can't say enough about the view overlooking Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. Wow. Staff were helpful, friendly, & accommodating. It was great. I have stayed in the area several times before and this is, by far, the best. The spa services were very nice and dining superb. Definitely will come back to the Club next time we travel to this area! Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Views of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak is stunning from any room.

I have just returned from a hiking trip to Colorado Springs. Though my group first attempted to stay at another well-known hotel, we ended up at The Lodge--much to our good fortune. Every room has a spectacular view of Pikes Peak. The lobby is lovely. The restaurant food was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice spa services. And obviously some investment of capital in the upkeep of the Lodge. It is easy to get to Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, and Old Colorado City from the Lodge, plus all the natural wonders of the area. My friends and I look forward to going back to The Lodge at Garden of the Gods!

If you are looking for a hotel with great views this is it. You wake up every morning to a view of the Garden of the Gods. Every morning my wife and I stayed mule deer were right outside our room which was spectacular. This hotel is also centrally located to all of the major attractions in the area with a 20 minute drive the longest we experienced.

The only downside to this hotel is it is a bit outdated. A chair in our room had a tear in it and there was an empty water bottle left in the room from the previous guests. We didn't spend much time in the room however, so it didn't really matter to us. Bed was pretty comfortable overall very peaceful nights sleep.

Room Tip: I would make sure to get a room on the second floor for the best views.

Nathan, thank you for having taken the time to write a review of our property. We appreciate your kind comments about our view, location, wildlife, and guest room beds. While our guest rooms are comfortable and spacious, we are currently in the process of enhancing decor. Recent changes to the rooms have included new bedding and televisions, for example, and future plans include adding new artwork and furniture. I am disappointed to learn about the empty water bottle in your room, as our policy is to inspect each room before the new guest checks in. I will follow up with our housekeeping department. Thank you again for your review, and we hope to see you again soon.

I live in Colorado but had never stayed at the Club. We were there for a wedding and it was the most beautiful resort location I've seen in Colorado! The Club is fairly close to the city but doesn't feel like it; every detail of our room was in order; the room was extremely comfortable, well-appointed, and roomy; and the view is spectacular, stunning, breathtaking, etc. Lots to do from hiking and biking to other local attractions to golf and tennis. The food was good, not great. The last thing I did before checking out was to go out onto our surprisingly private patio to breathe the fresh mountain air and absorb the view one last time.
