“Great place to stay with Awesome Views!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2011

First time to the Garden of the Gods Club. The view of the Garden of the Gods park from all the rooms is outstanding. We had an upper unit with a great deck to sit and enjoy the views of the park, Pikes Peak, and the surrounding mountains. The golf course was beautiful and well maintained with a great staff, pro shop and restaurant. Both restaurants at the Club were excellent and the Club was also close to other local restaurants and attractions. The rooms we big, nicely appointed, huge bathroom with separate "his and her" vanities, wonderfully comfy bed, super clean, and the VIEWS!!! The room was also quiet with no noises coming from adjacent rooms or areas. We will make this resort club a summer regular for us. Everyone at the Club did there best to ensure a quality resort experience.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views, but uppers are best.

I spent four nights at the Lodge with my sister and it was a great find! *Every* room has that gorgeous view of Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak -- our corner room balcony was huge. While the room was a little outdated, it was very clean, as was the entire property. (The small refrigerator in the room was very handy in which to keep breakfast and hiking snacks.) The team that works here is incredibly friendly -- from the folks at the front desk, to the lady who gave us milk for our coffee in the morning, to the great massage therapists. They all seem genuinely happy that you have chosen their property at which to stay.

Be sure to visit the spa! I've had massages at some pretty swanky places and the one at The Lodge at Garden of the Gods ranked right up there with the others. Be sure to sit in the hot tub (take wine and plastic cups) and open the sliding glass doors. It was relaxing after a day of hiking.

I would stay here again and would recommend it to those visiting Colorado Springs!

With million dollar views, beautiful grounds, most comfy beds, spacious rooms with walk-in closet, double sinks, a fireplace... & a soaring price tag you would have thought excellence.

We arrived on a Saturday for 3 nights. When we checked in we were told "we were not allowed" in the dining areas due to closed events. Pretty much the whole weekend was closed. Yes, there was room service & the grill 1/4 mile away was open... we were there for a romanic getaway & wanted to dress up abit... we went to the Broadmoor.
Funny, for the price.. the coffee in the room is worse than airport coffee & I would have expected complimentary coffee & water in the lobby. There was nothing complimentary. The pilates reformer in the work-out space needs to be replaced & the excercise balls need air. These are accidents waiting to happen. I guess what took me over the edge.... our water glasses in our rooms were not replaced daily.... they were wiped out. I knew this because my lipstick was still on 2 of the glasses after housekeeping visitied. I had to go to the front desk... and it was taken care of. There is a resort fee... I did read that it paid for housekeeping.. which I thought was reasonable. Be aware.. this resort double tips. They automatically charge a 20% service fee... plus you add a tip for your server. I felt really bad because our service in the grill was GREAT... but yet could not see paying a 40% tip. If you are expecting over-the-top service.. it's not that type of place. If you are expecting overwhelming views and spectacular beauty.. it's your place. But for $200+ a night are you serious?

Room Tip: all the rooms have a spectacular view.

Thank you for your glowing remarks about our beautiful views, property, and guest rooms. We'd like to point out that whenever we host private events in our dining room, we provide Lodge guests with on-site dining alternatives, which include our lounge, Kissing Camels Grille, and room service. Our state-of-the-art Sports Club is monitored regularly to ensure the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, and our housekeeping staff is trained to replace used drinking glasses in guest rooms. We apologize for any confusion about the dining service charge. Our servers are trained to communicate the 20 percent service charge when delivering each check to the table. Additional tipping is completely optional and at each guest’s own discretion. Based upon your feedback, we have followed up with both our housekeeping and dining service teams to ensure that the procedures we have discussed are being followed on a consistent basis. Our resort fee provides for daily newspaper delivery, high-speed wireless Internet access, two bottles of drinking water in the room, housekeeping gratuities, and complete access to all of our private Club’s amenities, including the swimming pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and 27-hole championship golf course. Lodge guests may take advantage of complimentary coffee, fruit-infused water, and snacks at our full-service spa, where our hot tub, steam rooms, and fitness center are located. Once again, thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property, and we hope you enjoyed your visit to Colorado Springs.

The Lodge is absolutely beautiful. The views out of every room are amazing. The spa, hot tub and pool are great. The pool is right at the cliff to provide spectacular views. The rooms are very large with everything you would need. Staff is excellent!

The Lodge is unparalled for the combination of location, views and room size. With the exception of some serious flaws, our stay was wonderful.
The spacious room was highlighted by a very large bathroom suite with a walk in closet, separate bathroom/shower/tub. Unfortunately the water in the shower never got truly hot. In reply to other reviews, the management has acknowledged a need/plan to update the tv and beds. The current tv is clearly out dated in size and quality. The gas fireplace was nice and the balcony view was incredible (Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods).
We were very disappointed to learn upon check in that the Lodge's dining room would not be open for dinner that evening due to a special event. We had planned for a romantic dinner, but instead had to eat at the golf course's 'sports bar and grill' (a 3 minute drive) - not the environment we had hoped for. We knew the dining room had a dress code, so we packed accordingly, and as it turned out, unnecessarily. A phone call or email to inform us of the dining room closure a day or two before check in would have been greatly appreciated. Dinner was a high quality and enjoyable, just not what we had envisioned. BE AWARE - 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill in every bar/lounge/restaurant.
Sunday morning at around 9:30 am, with the newspaper still sitting in front of the door, housekeeping knocked on the door, several times, until we answered. We answered the door to say we were checking out at noon (which is the standard check out time). I have no idea why they would not have a system in place to make housekeeping aware of guests that checked out early, leaving all other rooms alone until after noon.
Overall, the Lodge has the potential to live up to a 5 star rating. The facilities are outstanding, the golf course is beautiful and the dining/lounge service is top notch.

Thank you for your positive comments about our property, location, views, golf course, and service. This is the first time we have received any feedback about water temperature, and we will investigate our water heating system to ensure that it is working properly. We have already started to install new flat-screen televisions, mattresses, and bedding in our guest rooms, and these enhancements are on schedule to be completed by summer. While we do host private events in our dining room from time to time, we always make sure that our guests have access to on-site dining, whether at our lounge, Kissing Camels Grille, or via room service. We will share your feedback with our housekeeping team. We encourage guests to use the "Privacy, Please" door hangtags that we provide, as our housekeeping staff does strive to prepare rooms early both for guest comfort and the accommodation of early check-in requests when possible. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we invite you to stay with us again soon.

The whole staff was very professional and extremely warm and friendly. The views from our room were unparralled. We couldn't have built a better place for a perfect weekend. Joel was great on the phone while planning the trip and even better in person!

Room Tip: The Spruce Master Suite is the best room!!

We enjoyed staying at the Garden of the Gods Club. When I booked the room, I was told that each room had a fireplace and a balcony with a view. It was true! We didn't actually use our fireplace, but we certainly enjoyed the view from our balcony. We enjoyed the walk-in closets, his and her sinks, the safe (which was easy to use), and the refrigerator.
We did use our garmin quite a bit, but it seemed to us that the location was good because it was easy and relatively quick to get to wherever we wanted to go.
The room seemed clean and the bed and pillows were comfy. The tv was outdated in that it looked old fashion to me. I never actually watched it. And, yes, there is free wi-fi.

Room Tip: The rates are good if you go off-season.
