“Nice Natural Attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is a nice way to kill a few hours. The nice red rock formations are awesome. Great picture taking against the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak. The gift shop has nice gifts and some of the best views.

“One of the Crown Jewels of Colorado Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Garden of the Gods is spectacular! It's a visual feast for the eyes and a joy to the senses, with the scent of pine in the clean Colorado air and the stunning red rocks jutting at angles up from the ground. The park is big enough to enjoy a stroll without too large a crowd--depending on when you go--weekends and summers always find larger crowds. It's easy for those in wheelchairs to enjoy thanks to paved pathways that are well kept. The park is a magnet for cyclists and rock climbers who must have permits to climb. Free climbing is prohibited, but there are enough low rocks and pathways between rocks that will entertain kids or the kids at heart. Be sure you read about the geology of the formations. It is truly a magnificent wonder how these rocks were formed. Best part of all of this is that it is free for all to enjoy. I even took a Segway tour thru the park last year and that was tons of fun as well!

“Great park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

I was only in Colorado Springs for a week, but I went there twice in that week. The scenery itself is spectacular, large beautiful red formations with the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Nice paved trails run throughout the rock formations. They are nice and wide and no grade is that bad. There were a few rock climbers moving up one of the formations which made for an interesting break. You can drive through the park, which is free, and see the majority of the formations, but you really need to walk through to be able to fully appreciate the park. I was fortunate enough that my second trip through was after a snowfall. The snow on the formations and covering the Rockies really changed the appearance and was beautiful. On a logistics note, there is a park visitor center on the east side of the park and the "Trading Post" in the south. Both have restaurants and plenty of gifts. The view from the actual visitor center is breathtaking as you can see the formations with the mountains towering above. The restaurant at the Trading Post is small, relatively inexpensive and very very good. They have typical lunch items, burgers, wrapps, and snacks. The fudge sold in the gift shop at the Trading Post is worth a try as well.
