“Beautiful natural scenery....amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

This is worth a trip back, even if you have seen it before. The formations are amazing to see, and it is a beautiful drive.....and so convenient, being literally in the heart of town.

“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Definitely a place to see when in Colorado Springs. Also venture a bit further into the park to see the balancing rock.

“Pure Magnificence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

What is there to say that hasn't been said already??!

If you go to Colorado Springs, or are visiting, or love the outdoors -- you have to check out Garden of the Gods.

Located on the west side of town, take I-25 to Garden of the Gods/Austin Bluffs Road - east West, turn left at 30th, and you can't miss it.

The park has paved paths, dirt trials, picnic grounds, nature center, visitors' center, picnic tables, pull-off spots, horse trails, trading post, snack bar, hiking trails, climbing routes and access to the Front Range.

Having lived in Colorado Springs off and on for 9 years, it's the place to --
- take guests
- take photos
- take a walk
- take in a picnic
- take a date
- take in a nature hike
- take in some rock climbing (permit required)

The 'new' visitors center, located just outside the park is quite spectacular.

For the best scenic view of the park, exit the visitors center, turn left on 30th Street (heading north) and take your first right onto Mesa Road. There is a pull-off just above the visitors center that offers spectacular views
OR
drive up Rampart Range Road when open (4x4 preferred). The entrance is located just before Balanced Rock toward the interior of the park.

“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Beautiful red rock formations, easy paths, wildlife - there's a reason they call it "Garden of The Gods"- we've been here many times at different times of the day and always something beautiful. Stop at the main Visitors Center and take a pic on the balcony (they have a sign with the month/yr) with the beautiful mountains behind you. It's also worth the stop at the Trading Post as well (we enjoy their buffalo burgers) for many CO made items. Take a camera and some hiking shoes for any of the off the paved kind of paths you'd want to enjoy/explore as rock can be slippy any time of year.

“Where else can you see kissing camels?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Well, not real ones. This is a rock formation. Nature at it's finest. It's wonderful to walk through and see all of the different formations and colors. It gets really busy in the summer so off-season is the best time to go, especially in the fall.
