“Don't miss the chapel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

If you are in Colorado Springs, be sure to visit (via the north gate) the Academy. You can proceed right to the welcome/gift shop and pick up any information you need. Take a stroll around the adjacent plaza and hopefully you will be there on a sunny day to see how gorgeous the light shines inside the chapel. Its awe inspiring!

“Beware of weddings!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

If you are planning to see the Church, be aware of any weddings that may be taking place. Check with the desk in the visitors center. If there is a wedding happening, you won't be able to go into the Church at least one hour prior to the wedding, however the lower chapel may be available for viewing. The upper floor of the Church is awesome!! We were able to view the troops from the upper balcony. Cool.

“Small but interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

If you like military history and models (large) of historic aircraft this is the place for you. The chapel was incredibly beautiful as were the grounds and surrounding mountains. The total time needed is only about 1 to 2 hours tops.

“Free with great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

I went to the Air Force Academy after seeing it recommended as a "must see" in Colorado Springs. I enjoyed my time there, which was about two hours. I stopped at the visitor center for a map and then took a small hike to the chapel. The chapel is very unique and interesting to see. There are a few buildings listed on the map as open to the public but I wanted to spend my time outside on a beautiful day so I drove to a few of the outlook areas around the Academy and looked around. Very beautiful scenery.

Beautiful facility and amazing chapel! The visitor's center is a must and the movie about a year in the life of a cadet is wonderful!
