Its ok. If you were in the Air Force you will find it enjoyable. Its just not great at anything as being a tourist attraction. I am not fascinated with aviation so my opinion is may not matter for those that do as an interest in aviation.

“The American Peoples Air Force Academy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

It's ours and it's fantastic. Just drive thru the North Gate on I-25 north of Colorado Springs and show your drivers license and you are good to go. Just over the railway line (and the walking/biking path of the Santa Fe Trail) is a B-52 on your left for the first stop. Make sure you see this huge, decorated bomber. Then continue following the signs to the AFA Visitors Center heading west towards the mountains. You'll have an opportunity to stop at a couple overlooks of the Cadet field house and gyms on your left so make sure you stop. It's a great view. It's normal to see deer and turkeys all over the Academy grounds too. Then I suggest to follow the sign to the Cadet Chapel and find a park so you can walk around/visit the Chapel and the court yard of the Academy. There there are several airplanes to look at as well as historical monuments to the heroes of the Air Force. Walk or drive on up to the Visitor's Center (you can park at the Visitor Center and walk back to the Chapel too), the absolute must. Here not only is there a fantastic gift shop (discounts for active and retired military) but a museum and a very good Subway restaurant (be prepared for long lines). In short, a must see place in Colorado Springs.

“US Air Force Academy 02/23/14”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We visited the academy on a Sunday. There was not a lot going on but we really enjoyed the visitor center that has a lot of history on the academy. The academy is locate in a beautiful area of Colorado Springs. The Chapel is an amazing piece of architecture that will amaze you. I would encourage anyone to take this tour.

“The chapel is unbelievable...”

If you go to the USAF with limited time, make sure you check out the chapel. It is amazing, and I love that all denominations are accepted! Awesome place, wish I would have married here!

“Such a beautiful place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

We went to the Air Force Academy to watch a football game (wasn't much of a game though, AF was beat badly by WY!!). We went to the visitors center and loved the free movie and history that was there. As an added bonus we actually spotted Chad Hennings in the gift shop and my husband got a picture with him! His smile was larger than any pic of our wedding!! haha
