“Chapel is beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Visited with family of four this past weekend. My son and I had already been, but it was the first time for my daughter and husband. Happy to go again! The museum/visitors center is interesting and informative. It does not take too long to walk through and from there it is about 1/3 mile walk to the chapel. The chapel is so pretty inside and you can take pictures. Worth a visit.

“Proud to be an American!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

The USAF Academy is a testament to the pride we Americans have for our great country! The beautiful base and campus make me want to join and serve! (too old! :-) But, wow! What a setting to learn how to be an armed service officer! The beautiful acres surrounding the Academy offer miles of walking and running trails..the Chapel is stunning and I have never seen such a well-kept and groomed 'park'. This is a must-see for any visitor to Colorado Springs..and it is Free!!

“Go see the chapel”

The Chapel at the AF Academy is beautiful. Stop at the visitors center too. You get to learn about the academy and its history. There is a gift shop too.

“The Chapel was Great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

After going through my photos and most of them being of the inside and outside of the Chapel, I realized that was the place that I enjoyed the most during this visit. The campus itself was okay. It's spread out and was easy to get around. The gift shop was huge. If you are military (active or retired) they will give you a 10% discount. There was a very good selection of all sorts of AFA memorabilia to include clothing, water bottles, books, etc. To tour the campus, museum, and the Chapel is FREE!

There is a movie to watch as an introduction to the AFA but unfortunately we did not watch it. The hike from the parking lot to the chapel was a bit steep but gorgeous. We even saw a deer. If you time it right, you are able to watch the cadets parading and drilling. Watching the cadets and touring the beautiful Chapel will make this an enjoyable stop.

The AFA setting is beautiful and you can see it from the highway. I would recommend a total of one to two hours here. Talk to the people in the visitor center about tour guides and when to see the cadets. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for the weather. There isn't any shade while walking between the gift shop and Chapel.

The Cadet Chapel is stunning, the museum and gift shop are a MUST ! Not your typical gift shop, here you can find so many reasonably priced items to serve as momentos to a great visit :)
