“Rare find in a casino-grade food desert.”

Sweet, small, down-to-earth mom-and-pop shop with very tasty items including elk burgers, soup, hummus veggie plate, and bison chili. So glad to have found it!

“Great burgers - everything's organic/natural”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

stopped by when I saw their sign as I made my way from Blackhawk to Central City. They're on the edge of town but on the main drag

Very homey. Dave and Karen couldn't be more personable and helpful. Very good home-made hummus (from scratch - they actually cook dry garbanzos to make this. Who else does that??). Tried the elk burger and my girlfriend tried the bison burger. Both were delicious and the meat is from Colorado ranches. Gotta love great quality AND locally sourced. Also had the draft kombucha. Haven't seen that stuff on tap before. I think its Happy Leaf brand another Colorado product

Forget about those casino buffets that always sound great but are mediocre, at best. Give these guys a try

“A true pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

Stopped in on a quick day trip to Central City & Black Hawk. Gilpin Market serves a a nice selection of organic, all natural foods (nothing processed from can, box or microwave). We had the jalapeno bites, beef cheeseburger and bison chili served with homemade bread - boy did it hit the spot! They also have Happy Leaf Kombucha on tap (a flavored non-alcoholic, fermented beverage that has a variety of health benefits!). It was nice to sit down in a peaceful small town cafe-type environment and decompress after a couple of hours in the casino. The service was prompt and so friendly it felt almost like we were regulars in a neighborhood restaurant. We will absolutely be back!

“Good Burger in Central City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

I have eaten here for lunch a couple of times when I am in the area for work. Friendly folks and good food. And - they're not a casino!

“Simple, organic, fresh, delicious. If you want a burger, get it here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014 via mobile

Small, homey little joint, comfortable and quiet when we went. Bison burger was perfect, chili dog was delicious also, and their on tap Kombucha was surprisingly tasty! If you want a burger, eat here. We mistakenly left a subpar tip and feel terrible! Hoping to return tomorrow to eat again & remedy it.
