We too had a terrible experience with our family at Augustine’s Grill. The waiter was totally rude. Outside in there patio area it smelled like garbage. The hostess area is a tiny little 2x2 space and it takes 20-30 minutes to get seated. The food is way over priced and not very good. I think the owner thinks way too highly of his place as we complained and he said “ We are very busy we must be doing something right”. Does he not realize how limited the choices are in Castle Rock? When we actually get some decent restaurants trust me the place will be dead. Don’t go there it is a waste of money! The owner and wait staff aresub-apr.

I went there for lunch with my two children, a friend and her daughter. Our table was outside, and it smelled like garbage. Our waiter was rude to us right away, and was clearly not happy to be waiting on 3 little (well behaved) children. Then I overheard him talking to the owner about how they should hang a sign on the door stating "no kids allowed". I approached the owner and asked if he had a problem with my children, he coldly said "not yet". We were so offended that we left before we got our food. (the kids had shared a $7 bowl of macaroni and cheese). We spoke w/ the owner when we left, he never apologized and he said that his kids would never throw mac and cheese on the ground. And something to the effect of how dare we bring our children there when it was a busy lunchtime.

“Best Dinning Experience in Front Range”

We have dined for years at this outstanding establishment and it just keeps getting better. It is our favorite restaurant in the front range and that is saying a lot. The ambiance is excellent only surpassed by the outstanding service. The staff is very professional and friendly. The food is another story, it is simply the best. The preparation is world class and the presentation would compete with the most expensive restaurant I have frequented in my fifty plus years of dinning out all over the United States. The prices are not cheap but fair and well worth the price for truly elegant dinning in a casual atmosphere. If you are looking for a place that serves lots of mediocrity food that you can take home for another meal this is NOT your place, but if you enjoy a fine meal served in the appropriate quantity for ultimate enjoyment this is the place. You can even save room for the exquisite desserts, which are the best. Don't leave without sampling the bread pudding and the creme brule. Next time make it for lunch. The food is excellent and the outside dinning is a special experience. The setting is world class with live music some of the time. An absolute Colorado treasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The Augustine Grill is located right on the main street of Castle Rock in an old converted victorian house. In the summer it has a wonderful outdoor seating area in the gardens with live music outdoors on weekends. The menu offers a selection of wonderful beef, lamb, poultry and fish dishes. My favorite is the lamb with goat cheese and basalmic reduction. My husband raves over the filet on articoke with hollandaise sauce. There are a few nice pastas and salads for lighter evenings as well. My husband and I enjoy relaxing on the patio with wine and a slow paced dinner in the summer months. In the winter the Augustine has a crackling fire and great specials. I feel Augustine offers great food and ambiance in a small town.
