“OMG!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

Free and a thrill. Not for the faint of heart/acrophobics. Beautiful views. Less than 15 minute drive. 1+ miles west of Canon City and then drops back into a Canon City residential area. Adults and kids love it.

“Dinosaur tracks on funky drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2011

This narrow road might intimidate some drivers because of the sheer drops on either side, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, especially seeing the dinosaur tracks and great views of the surrounding area.

“I don't understand the scared reviews, I...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010 via mobile

I don't understand the scared reviews, I can only assume they are from flat states & unused to high roads.

this is a nice drive with nice views, esp if you take it in the evening or early morning when you still see the colors from sunrise/sunset. The road is not overly narrow, it's just a one lane road. As long as you know how to drive you are fine. It's actually very tame in my opinion but still a drive worth taking.

“Beautiful and a must see in Canon City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2010

Skyline Dr. has stunning views - especially at night. My fiancee and I try to travel to Colorado once each year and we stay with relatives outside Canon City. We always make a point to drive Skyline at least once during our trip because it is such a beautiful drive. There are also some really nice hiking trails that are in this area around Skyline Dr. and also the more difficult to find Tunnel Drive. Don't listen to the chickens who complain about the road - of course it is narrow and of course it has a sharp turn or two - thats just Colorado for you. After all, if Colorado paid for guard rails every place they are needed, they'd be broke! :-) The main thing is to slow down, if you're driving the right speed and using your vehicle's low gear, you shouldn't have any reason to be nervous.

“Beuatiful view, well worth the trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2010

The view from skyline drive cannot be beat. The road is narrow with steep drops on either side, but for anyone with any sort of mountain driving experience it is not at all scary. It is fully paved and in very good condition. Being from Colorado, this road did not seem at all treacherous. Take your time, know what you are getting into, and then just enjoy the beautiful views. There are plenty of places to pull off the road to enjoy the scenery, but there is no turning around once you are on the road.
