Went here for lunch after a rafting trip. The bulding is cute and looks like it is going to be great. The knick-knack stuff was all very dusty. The servings were okay in size, but not really big. We should have know it wasn't going to be great when the "first chips & salsa" are on the house. They were Tostitos chips and a pretty decent salsa. The queso was pretty gross, but the other stuff was okay.
Okay meal for a starving group, but nothing to go back for.
Cafe del Sol is a neat building, decorations and interior are dusty, they need a good wipe down. The food was okay. If you are looking for authentic mexican food and lots of it, don't bother going here. The staff was friendly and nice. There's a great little mexican restaurant in Poncha Springs, about 20 minutes away from BV.
Casa del Sol is a cute Mexican restaurant along Highway 24 in Buena Vista. We had eaten there about seven years ago and remembered the yummy food. The salsa they serve with chips (first round is free) is mild and very fresh-tasting. The meals are delicious and filling. Although we were seated immediately on this visit, it took a while for our order to be taken and our drinks to arrive. Once we were served, everything was fine.
