“A unique experience with beautiful views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

The lodge is a nice alternative to standard motel rooms. It could use some TLC such as new carpeting and paint, but such things did not detract in my opinion from the "lodge" feel. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly, as was the driver of the free shuttle to town. The room was very large and spacious with lodge type furnishings, nothing fancy. Beds were comfortable enough, and the bathroom was very spacious as well. Plenty of hot water. I was not hot at all in the room, although the hallways were always overly warm. The continental breakfast was sufficient, and the views from the dining area were spectacular. The weight/exercise room was outstanding. Many pieces of equipment you would find at a gym. This place is a diamond in the rough!

This is more of a rustic no frills lodge than a "spa". It's neither a spa nor a resort. It's a quiet lodge about a mile outside of Breckenridge perched high in the hills. The views are spectacular. The lodge itself is older and basic. The dining area seems abandoned with a bar area that is cleared out and probably only used for special events. The breakfast bar gets a C-. However, if you're looking for a quiet lodge with a nice main area to hang out and read, look at the mountains and just relax, this is your place. The staff is nice and the shuttle will ferry you around like your own personal taxi. The price was great, too. A good value. If you want luxury, this is not your place, but the price reflects that.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent stay!
We are a small rustic mountain lodge, that sites above the town of Breckenridge, known for our spectacular views of Breckenridge Ski Resort, Baldy Mountain and the Rocky Mountain Range. We off a complimentary continental breakfast that is inclueded in the lodging rate (we are the only hotel in Breckenridge that offers any type of complimentary breakfast included in lodging rate). We offer our complimentary shuttle service to town and ski slopes during the winter season only.
Thanks, Rhonda

My husband surprised me with a trip to Breckinridge and a stay at The Lodge and Spa and it was wonderful. The front desk staff were friendly, the continental breakfast was just enough, and the shuttle drivers were fantastic! We would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you for a enjoyable visit!

This was an amazing place to stay in Breckenridge. We were a little hesitant to have chosen a place offering a deal because it was up in the mountains verses in the heart of Breckenridge (where the ski lifts are). We were pleasantly surprised, not only with the view of the city and mountains from the dining hall, hot tubs, lobby and rooms; but also with the fabulous customer service we received. Everyone went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Every need we had was quickly granted with a positive attitude. The free shuttle to the city center (only 5-10 minutes away, depending on the specific location) was easy and reliable -- the driver has an on-call cell phone you can call anytime for a ride anywhere in Breckenridge. And of the four different drivers we had in two days' time, all were friendly and helpful.

Lastly, the free continental breakfast -- with a view over the Breckenridge valley -- was

We stay almost every weekend in Breckenridge and just use a decently priced hotel. This weekend we happened to stay at the lodge and spa.. It was fantastic and we have already booked our next stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable as well as very clean. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The offer a free shuttle down into town so you have no parking worries either. Thank you for making our weekend carefree.

We booked a room at this hotel for a family of 4, but it was only a king bed there (even if in the pictures are displayed 1 bed and a sofa). We received a folding bed, which was a pain while sleeping. The breakfast is very good, perfect before hitting the trails. The furniture is outdated. We had a kitchenette and a fireplace, which was great.

Room Tip: Room 101 has a fireplace and kitchenette. But it is smelly.

The Lodge has a multiple of different room types. When you are booking on other websites other than ours, we recommend that you also give us a call to ensure you are getting a room that will fit all your needs. We are always welcoming to accomodate upgrades as best we can, however at the time of this guest stay we were sold out.
Thanks, Rhonda

My daughter and I stayed there Thursday, (12-27-12) - Sunday, (12-30-12). I booked this hotel on Expedia and selected this hotel, because it was the most affordable, during the peak season. We stayed in a standard room, that was suppose to have a Forest view, but it was actually a view of the parking lot. The windows have woodend shutters, which were nice, but it does'nt make for a good viewing. Our room was spacious with a king size bed. There was a small sitting area facing the TV, with a small coffee table and love seat. There was a medium size (6) drawer chest, (2) bed side tables each with a lamp and (1) drawer. The bathroom was a good size, with good lighting and several shelves for bathroom toiletries. The standard tub/shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room had plenty of good lighting, but did not have a full length mirrow. There was (1) six prong electrical outlet near the window (not convenient for styling hair). The bed was comfortable with a goose down comforter and pillows. Our room had a fireplace, but it did not work (only for show). The room was very clean and the heater worked great! Although, there was some noice during the night such as furniture being moved around and the sound of a vacuum running. The hotel lobby is nice, and was decorated pretty for Christmas. I was impressed with the Continental breakfast, it was above average, considering it was free! They served all kinds of danishes, muffins, white and wheat bread (toaster available), bagels, fruit, hard boiled eggs, several different flavors of cold cerals, milk, orange juice, apple juice, tea, coffee and waffles with all the fixings! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our check-in and check-out went very smoothly. They have a hotel shuttle that will take you all over town. The drivers are extremely nice and helpful (our favorite driver was Joe). The best thing about this hotel is the breathtaking view of the mountains from the public hotel balcony - so, so, beautiful! Overall this is a good place to stay if you are on a budget. This property is comparable to a LaQuinta Hotel or Hampton Inn.

Thanks for taking the time to write an extensive review on your recent stay so that it can help others. We always recommend calling us directly to ensure you book the right room type you are looking for and to accommodate any of your special requests.
We have multiple styles of room types including Forest View (views of parking lot and tree area), Mountain View (views of mountains) and Mountain View Suites (views of mountains and also including partial views of Breckenridge Ski Resort). Please make sure to book your room based on the views that you would like, obviously our Forest Views are at a lower rate than the others.
There are 2 Forest View Rooms that have a non-working fireplace in them, and we sell these rooms as rooms with No Fireplace.
Thanks, Rhonda
