“Comfortably quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

My wife and I stayed at Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge in late September so we could enjoy the colorful aspens. The Lodge was very conveniently located at the end of Main Street where the rest of Breckenridge was easily accessible by walking. The accommodations were premium and spacious. The room was totally quiet with close covered parking and competitively priced.

“Great location and nice property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

Just stayed for three nights at this wonderful location. Property is incredibly clean and the location cannot be beat....just a few steps from Main Street. Property is "ski-in/ski-out" during the ski season. View from my bedroom was incredible. The only issue is that parking is a bit "tight" in the underground garage. But, I've already made reservations to return for ski season!

Room Tip: Ask to have a room with a view of the moutains.

“Marriott Valley Lodge at Brekenridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

My friend and I just stayed here for one night on 9/23. The parking was in a garage, but it was only about 100 feet from the Hotel reception area and it is climate controlled and secured, unlike alot of Hotels today that have open/free lots that are not secure or have no on-site security. The room was nice on the 5th floor of the "Downhill" Bldg. overlooking the lake and the mountain. The balcony was small but who intends to watch a sunset when it sets on the opposite side of the building (the buildings face northeast). The staff at check-in were gracious and even when we could not find the Hotel they gave us directions and we were there in seconds. They were even more than gracious to let us empty our car at the reception area and gave us 45 mins to return to move tha car into the garage. In addition, they were sold out and I inquired about a late check-out (check out is 10AM) and they gave us an 1130AM check-out at no charge. I would definitely stay here again. Also some people have said that the beds are Full size. This is NOT the case, the beds are most certainly Queen and the fold out couch is also a Queen size.

On a side note the food at the Whales Tail on Main St was wonderful, quiet and casual. The blackened chicken alfredo was amazing, even the leftovers the next day.The breakfast at the Blue Moose however was subpar as far as service goes. We only had a bagel, but it took 10mins for us to even get creamer or place an order.

Again as far as Marriott goes, they may be doing some updating as when we left on Monday a truck with rolls of carpeting was unloading outside our building.

For those complaining about amenities...There is more to do in town than one might notice. Try a little exploring. I found a hiking trail

Also I have been to many MVCI where you have to bring your own soap and shampoo, but not here. The Hotel provides it in room.

“Convenient and Close”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge during this past Labor day weekend. We found the resort to be conveniently located near Maggie Pond and the east end of Main Street. We were within walking distance of many fine restaurants, brew house, boutique shops, and miscellaneous souvenir type shops. The check in went smoothly as the desk clerk, Daniel, was extremely efficient and quite pleasant. He offered suggestions for a place to eat that evening, advised us of events going on at the resort (as well as downtown Breckenridge), and informed us of how to navigate the property (including the underground parking). Our villa was considered to be an efficiency, however, we found it to be quite spacious (for two people) with a large bathroom, queen bed, and queen fold out couch. It also had a full kitchen, standard appliances (stove, microwave, refrigerator, and all utensils. The property was very clean and we observed personnel from the resort performing maintenance on a daily basis. There was a large outdoor pool and four hot tubs available for use. We would definitely recommend this resort as a home base for seeing/doing different activities in the Summit County area. Hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.

Room Tip: We asked for a room that overlooked the mountains and on an upper floor level. There were seven flo...

“Nice Studio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

The studio had a full kitchen that included everything you could need for a short or long stay (full-sized fridge, dishwasher, dishes), which was a huge bonus. The vaulted ceiling on the third floor made the room feel much larger. The beds were comfortable, but their is no AC in the summer so it was a little warm. The bathroom was slightly cramped, but still nice. The Angler building didn't offer much of a view, but the balcony was spacious and you can hear the waterfall from the pond. Overall, very good resort for the price.
