You read right. Beaver Run has left it's porn channel unlocked, so our son while looking for the Disney Channel got to grow up in a matter of minutes. When I told the management company we booked through (Ski Village Lodge), their on site manager was kind enough to tell me...

"oh yeah, Beaver Run has that problem all the time. Some how past visitors unlock the porn channel and it stays unlocked. Sorry about that. It's a Beaver Run issue we can't fix. And we don't always remember to check the TV before the next visitor comes."

Add to this a very run down property with a leaking upstairs bathtub that had water stains in the hall outside, and a bad living room sliding glass door that would not open... and you have the worse visit ever.

There are plenty of better choices at Brekenridge. Stay clear of Beaver Run.

I haven't even stayed at the resort yet but I have booked my stay for the first week of March. I called to ask a question about a new package that I saw on the website to see if I could change my reservation to that. The snot that answered the phone told me although that package was available when I booked my trip I could not change my reservation to that specific package. I asked if it was available at that time why was it not offered to me. She said they did not offer packages unless requested by the customer. The solution was cancel my reservation pay the $75 cancellation fee and rebook the trip. This is a ridiculous answer to an issue that could have been easily resolved. I most likely will cancel my stay at Beaver Run book elsewhere and eat the $75 cancellation fee. Maybe they will use my $75 for some customer service training. If this is how they treat customers who have yet to begin their trip at their resort how do they treat you once you are there????

Prior to arriving at the hotel I contacted the concierge, Rebecca and Maryanne are great, be leary of the other 2 people working in the office, not very skilled and kind of sloppy.

Peak Provisions - Chris - booked grocery delivery service prior to arrival and all items were stocked in our room prior to arrival - excellent no non sense service.

Check in was very quick and simple, of course this property requires full payment ahead of arrival so there is nothing really to do at front desk.

Snowmobiling - booked through concierge, impossible to come here and not do this tour, worth every penny and then some.

Skiing - what can i say, awesome - friendly staff and great trails.

Accomodations - we booked the presidential suite - 4 bedrooms, two story, just a very nice property. The room was upgraded and was a great fit for a party of our size, 5 adults and 2 children. Room was a little expensive but worth it due to the size of our group and we saved money by ordering groceries.

The only issue i can say is room size of other units, i peaked into a 2 bedroom two story unit and the living space, which is most important, is very tight.

The hotel is in a good location, close to several nice uphill hiking trails. They have a super-knowledgeable and helpful concierge to help with planning local trips.

My suite was spacious with a good view of the hills, however jacuzzi did not work.

Parking in front of the hotel is extremely limited, you have to park in a cavernous garage with narrow lanes. My Explorer barely fit between the yellow lines.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The town itself is not exciting, but summer hiking in the area is excellent.

travelled to this resort in december to january for 10 nights, we went in a large group and EVERYONE suffered from the altitude. the hall ways are exceptionally long and by the time you get to the end of it your feeling light headed, dizzy and sick. the skiing althought very good and right on your door step the hotel needed a complete makeover. the rooms very dirty. concierge was completely unhelpful and ignornant disregarding any problem or bookings we needed to make. for a skiing resort that relies on snow when it dose the whole town becomes grid locked and the main roads become closed leaving you stranded if you ventured out therefore no way of getting back to the resort. there is no currency exchange at this hotel. the deli is ok, yet sometimes some dishes arent avalible due to lack of supplies if it has snowed. this resort is 10,000 feet above sea level so if you stay here you will most probably suffer altitude sickness.

  • Liked — slopes on your doors step
  • Disliked — staff ignorance, lack of supplies, different climates within hotel contributing to altitude sickness
