“Amazing view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

At first we were disappointed that the ciwas not in the heart of everything. However, one step through the front door and we were happy with our decision. The view from our room was simply stunning and the breakfast room also had a terrific view. This is a great little find away from the hustle and bustle

This was our second stay and just as impressive as our first. The facility is very clean and it is extremely comfortable. I love the decor and colors. It is nice to be able to get a hot drink anytime as well as snack food and fruit. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is nice with lots of choices. This is a no brainer, even though it is a short distance from town.

Thank you for sharing your review with the TripAdvisor community!

We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed multiple stays with us and continue to find the same, great service we take pride in. As we are always working to make the Breck Inn better, we are thrilled to announce that we have resumed our shuttle operations. Even though we are just outside of the core town, our shuttle will gladly take to you to the base of the lifts or into town so you can enjoy a day of activity, without a day full of parking.

Thank you again for sharing your review, and we hope to see you again soon!

This is a nice clean place. You have the same access to Breckenridge, so what's the point of paying so much more for a place to stay? We were allowed to check in several hours early, which was quite helpful. I would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: Odd numbered rooms have the best view

Thank you for sharing your review! We do truly appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay.

While our standard check in time is at 4:00 PM, we do our best to accommodate guests as they arrive. If we have a room ready for you at 10:00 AM, we will do our best to get you in and started on your vacation.

We are also happy to announce that we will be resuming our own shuttle service this coming ski season. This feature, though our hours are yet to be determined, will allow us to enhance our accessibility to town and the ski resort.

We hope to see you again soon!

Enjoyed the property. Staff was courteous..property was clean..basically quite good. The one thing that is unexceptionable is that they allow cigarette smoking on balconies which means in this small property everyone is forced to smoke !!! They seem consciencious enough, recycle etc...The county, state , or city has no juristiction over what a hotel must do ( a balcony is considered part of a room rented by the client,) it's up to the individual hotel to adapt their own policies. I recently spent the better part of 2 summers at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs...someone smokes, you pick up the phone and they are no longer smoking. This morning the guests next to me had their cigarettes going, packs on the wooden railings with their lighters and were putting their unfinished lit cigarettes on the wooden railings. I would think the property might want to consider making a non- smoking policy instatement, certainly their insurance rates would lower and who knows , they might even save their property from a fire !!!

Thank you for sharing your review! We do appreciate this feedback and have begun acting upon your suggestions.

Over a year ago, we removed the ash trays from the balconies as to no longer encourage smoking on the balconies; however, we had not taken any measures to discourage smoking on the balconies. Based on the input from yourself and other guests, we have made the decision to prohibit smoking on the balconies. We have ordered the appropriate signage and are revising our documents to reflect this change.

Again, thank you for your suggestion. We are happy to say that we have made the necessary changes for our guests to better enjoy the fresh, mountain air.

After staying in Breckenridge many times this was our first at the Breck Inn and I would stay there again in a second. Not right in town but there is a free shuttle that runs twice an hour right across the street and the hot tub was very nice, free wine cheese and crackers on check in and the morning breakfast had more to offer than most. Very surprised to find what I assumed a blah experience, very quaint comfortable and above my expectations.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Breck Inn with the TripAdvisor community. We certainly enjoy and appreciate this feedback.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We work hard to ensure every guest staying with us has a great vacation. It is rewarding to see that our efforts are paying off with an improved continental breakfast and an enjoyable hot tub. On Friday nights, we are also able to welcome our guests with a complimentary selection of wine and cheese.

As mentioned, the Summit Stage is a free, local bus that picks up twice an hour just across the street from the Breck Inn, with reduced hours running past midnight. We are also happy to announce that we will resume our own shuttle service this ski season. Though the hours will remain limited, the convenience of our own shuttle is something we are thrilled to be offering once again.

Once again, thank you for sharing your review. We hope to see you again soon!

No need to repeat what others have said, but a word to the wise: Ask for a room with a king instead of two queens. The rooms are adequate, but with two beds it's a bit cramped. With the king room, one gets a sofa. Bath and lavatory areas are small for this sort of accommodation. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning crews were all pleasant and helpful. There's a decent free breakfast. There's also a nice hot tub just outside the back door.

Room Tip: Ask for a king and try to get a room on the back.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We appreciate the tremendous contributions you have made to the TripAdvisor community and the feedback you are able to provide us.

Though the number of king rooms we are able to offer is quite limited, we are happy to hear that the alternate furniture layout is appreciated. We recognize that our rooms, especially the queen rooms, are on the small side. As such, we have worked diligently to enhance the guest lounge, lobby, and our loft so we can provide more areas for a family to spread out.

As previously mentioned, we are continuously working to improve our breakfast selection. While we hope that we are able to provide an option for everyone, we recognize that there are better options yet to be discovered and always will listen to any suggestions.

We appreciate the kind comment about our hot tub. Our engineering staff is continuously working to make certain the hot tub is at its best. Although it is under a roof, there is little better on a cool, mountain evening than a soak in an outdoor hot tub.

Above all else, we seek to provide the best possible service to everyone who stays with us. If this means directions to a local hiking trail or accommodating a request for a king room, we strive to make your stay the best it can be.

Having read the recent reviews of The Breck in I didn't expect a Marriott, but turns out we still had a great experience. Like many others we stayed here as part of the Lodge at Peak 7's timeshare sales incentive. Our parents own at The Lodge and we were excited to check it out and have a getaway as a family. When we arrived at The Breck Inn (after 13 hours of travel) we were exhausted. The hotel is conveniently located at the entrance to town, very easy to find. The gal at the check in was very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. She even offered to upgrade us to a 1 bedroom suite for our stay (very helpful of her given we were traveling with our 2 1/2 year old son). The room was very accommodating - full kitchen, plenty of towels, king size bed, pull out queen sofa sleeper. Both beds were VERY comfortable with plenty of bedding and pillows. Everything was very clean and the recent updates are attractive. Breakfast is what all the other reviews suggested - continental breakfast (waffles, hard boiled eggs, doughnuts, muffins, cereal, yogurt, juice, etc.) I don't have any complaints. It was nice to have juice, coffee, hot chocolate, granola bars, and fruit available all day and night. A very nice touch. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub and forgive the lack of swimming pool given that the community rec center is just across the street. There is no AC in the room but a fan was in our closet - we put that in the window and it cooled things off perfectly. Given the price of this hotel, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Room Tip: Front Rooms Have Shared Balcony and View but May have more Traffic Noise During the Day. Might be wo...

Thank you for taking the time to share your review for the Breck Inn. We are happy to see that you enjoyed your stay with us and enjoyed a nice little get away.

We are glad that you appreciated the extra space we were able to offer in one of our studio units. The full kitchen and additional space is a huge plus for any person traveling and we wish we could offer this type of unit to everyone. Alas, we only have 2 studios that we are able to offer, so they are typically given on a first come, first serve basis so we can ensure they are used to their full potential.

Interestingly enough, the studio units are the only rooms in the Breck Inn without air conditioning. All of our standard hotel rooms are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning and heat to keep the unit comfortable during all times of the year. In our high altitude environment though, we find that a fan blowing in some fresh air is just as nice as air conditioning.

While we acknowledge that our breakfast is just a continental breakfast, we are always open to new ideas that will make it better. Included in this, is making apples, oranges, granola bars, coffee and hot chocolate available all day. From time to time, everyone needs a midday snack and we are happy to provide a small bite to hold you over.

Again, thank you for taking the time to create this review. We truly do appreciate the feedback and are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.
