“Cute and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

This was a gem of a choice, which we made based on other reviews, and we were quite satisfied ourselves. The Lodge is well-managed, by Tonti Management, is clean, well-stocked, quiet, and very nicely situated. The balcony of our studio loft (#405) had an absolutely gorgeous view of Peaks 7 and 8, and the girls were thrilled with the "swirly" (spiral) staircase up to the loft. We let our daughter sleep in the queen bed upstairs, while we used the day bed/rollout for convenience. Both were very comfortable. The added convenience of both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms was greatly appreciated.

The location is superb, as a bi-directional shuttle stop is literally across the street, providing FREE transportation to all of Breckenridge AND Summit County. The same lot is the base of the Snowflake lift (winter use) and the trailhead for the Sawmill trail (summer use). Across the street in the other direction, just beyond the property lines, is the 4 O'Clock trail and ski run, so for summer visitors there is a wonderful trail loop leaving from and returning to your front door! And these are mountain bike trails as well.

Minor downsides: The balcony was semi-private, shared with unit 403 (which was vacant though). The loft window would not stay open more than 3 inches, making it necessary to run a cooling fan through the night, which was a bit noisy. Clothes storage and changing room is a little inconvenient in the studio area; shelving in the closet might be helpful. The room did not include a hair dryer, but the front desk was quick to provide 2 for our gals! The location is not a "quick" walk to or from downtown if you are not acclimated to the elevation or used to walking.

Last word: We'd like to try out other Breck accommodations just to become familiar with several, but the Wedgewood Lodge will be hard not to return to.

Room Tip: The odd-numbered rooms may have the better views. Email or call to ask, as the web site does not pro...

Good morning Doulos8!

What a fantastic review, & thank you for all of the details! We are so happy you and the family enjoyed Breckenridge and The Wedgewood Lodge. We also do truly appreciate the 'Minor Downsides' paragraph as without our guest feedback, sometimes these things go under the radar. We had let maintenance know about the window in that unit and it has since been repaired.
You are correct about our distance to Main Street. We are a three block walk down to town. It is about a 5 minute walk down, and closer to a ten minute walk back up the hill. The town of Breckenridge does offer a city bus that runs 2-3 times an hour depending on the season, which can be helpful on those colder evenings!
We hope you and the family join us again, perhaps this time in the winter? Otherwise, we hope to see you all again next summer! Give us a call directly for your return guest discount, and we can also assist with some discounted activities for you and the kids.

Best regards,

Sarah

Stayed at the Wedgewood Lodge for the 4th of July weekend and couldn't have asked for more. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo with the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths on the lower floor and a full kitchen, living room, dinning room, and bathroom upstairs. Plenty of room for the four of us.

The kitchen allowed us to have some meals in the condo which helped in not having to seek out a restaurant for each meal. Basic pots, pans, and utensils provided. The entire condo is very clean and well stocked with extra towels, pillows, etc.

The lodge is located within easy walking distance of Main street and there are some nice short hikes (Sawmill Trail to Select 10 or Reservoir Trail loop) that you can take you up the mountain from the lodge and loop your way back to the condo or into town.

They also provide underground or outside parking depending on your preference.

Compared to other accommodations in the area the Wedgewood Lodge was a very good value. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The two bedroom condos back to the mountain which are quieter than the units that face the street an...

We saw TripAdvisor reviews of the Wedgewood Lodge in Breckenridge and decided to book there for the 4th of July holiday. What a little gem, nestled in the hillside among the trees. So very quiet yet only 2 blocks or so from downtown Breckenridge, just up from the Riverwalk. Our studio room was very clean and had a full kitchen, bar counter with stools, large leather pull-out sofa and leather recliner, plus a small high top table and chairs. Very spacious. We had the corner room on the 3rd floor and had a wonderful view of the town and mountains in the distance, plus a balcony. They have a terrace with hot tub, grills for anyone to use, and use of a pool nearby. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room on an upper floor, but honestly the entire place was so quiet I doubt it ma...

We stayed at the Wedgewood lodge in a studio. Myself and 2 daughters. Great location and on-site parking. Very convenient to town - walking distance - and grocery store. We enjoyed the lodging and plan on returning. More than just a no frills! Service was very good.

Arrived on Friday evening after the front desk had closed. Found an envelope with all necessary information so we could access our room. We rented a 1 bedroom unit and found it to be very accommodating, clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and provided some great sleeping for both of us. The location was very close to all the popular areas in Breckenridge. Loved the great value we received compared to other places I researched and the reviews from others were very helpful. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get away and have a great place to stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in the off-season. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location of this lodge is great, walk down the street and you are the creek that runs through Breck and Main street. The view from our shared deck was great, as you sit there and enjoy the sun rise over the mountains or the evening watching the sun glisten off the snow covered peaks. The room itself was amazing, very clean and updated. We were in a Studio, however it still has a full kitchen in it, with appliances, dishes, and cookware. With City Market grocery just down the street we saved money by eating several meals at the room. They room was also equipped with a small fan you can use in the window and a humidifier.
