“Great ski in/out and walk to town location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2011

Our friends have been staying here for years so we decided to join them for some late season skiing. The location was fabulous- the Snowflake lift was about 300 yards away and we could walk into town. They have a great indoor/outdoor pool that is shared with some other properties that our kids loved. We had a 3 bedroom townhome which was very quiet, clean and spacious. It was a great deal for a ski in/out place and would definitely like to stay there again. I felt so spoiled staying so close to everything. They are remodeling the lobby area so I imagine it will be very nice but we never even went there.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for the pool key.

We had a loft which fit us nicely. The room was clean, modern, had nice amenities (shampoo, etc.), and quality fixtures (e.g., solid doors and two bathrooms). You share the outside deck, but that wasn't a problem when we were there; we had a beautiful view of the town.

There's an indoor jacuzzi as well as an outdoor, and a wonderful common area (an inside one and outside as well). The staff were very helpful.

It's a short walk into town, but it's uphill on the way back, and at 10,000 feet it can be tiring. We didn't try to use the free shuttle service (it runs on the hour) but it was available.

We travelled by car with two kids from Chicago to Los Angeles, and this was a very relaxing stop for us, so we booked a second night. Good location, and clean rooms with a friendly staff. The location was great. The only problem was some people partying loudly, but we had no trouble falling asleep, as we had been driving for a couple days. Overall, good place to stay.

We were there for a week for our daughter's wedding. By the wedding night, our family and friends filled almost all the rooms. We had use of the lodge's main room, and they moved out the ski lodge type furniture for our wedding reception, and they set up a the banquest tables and chairs. We had a caterer (that they recommended) and they were great. We put on a breakfast the next morning for our guests, and used their catering room. A few days before the wedding and a day after, we had barbeque dinners for our family/friends. They had 2 grills on the deck right outside the main room for our use.

There is underbround parking at the lodge, and some outside by the condos. We had a 2 bedroom/2 and a half bath unit. We had enough room to store all the wedding stuff, and to prepare all the flowers. The kitchen was full sized and we had a dining room. Our unit had a fireplace, and we used it in the early mornings when the temp dropped into the low 40's. Wireless internet worked great, and they had a computer in the lobby, and I was able to send stuff their their office printer for free. They had separate indoor and outdoor hot tubs.
You could walk just a block and use a pool for free that was shared by several hotels/condos.

The lodge is just 3 blocks from downtown Breck, but the walk up the hill after a long day of shopping or restaurant eating is rather hard at that high altitude. Lots of free city parking at the bottom of the hill. They had lots of maps and information on restaurants and local activities. We also had a local massage parlor send 2 people to the lodge and gave complimentary chair massages to our guests for 6 hours before the wedding.

Their staff was very accomodating to us. The office staff came thru with every request I had. They did a great job cleaning up after our barbeque dinners, the wedding, and the breakfast. The hotel just spent the summer remodeling, and it was very neat and clean.

My daughter and I stayed at the Wedgewood Lodge March 12 - 14 for an early spring break snowboarding trip in Breckenridge (she snowboards, not me.)

What a gem! We lucked out! Usually I plan our trips 6-8 months in advance but we decided on vacationing in Breckenridge at last minute notice. I consider myself fortunate to have found such a super place to stay.

What stood out: the location, the clean room, the lovely balcony and watching the snow fall on the trees and mountain from our deck, the front desk manager (her daughter volunteered to loan her snowboarding helmet to my daughter), the reservationist (who suggested we stay in her dad's favorite room), the wonderful housekeeping supervisor (he made my bed on the weekdays, when the rooms are typically not cleaned; he checked in with us to make sure everything was okay, and he gave helpful advice on altitude sickness.)

Also Breckenridge has a wonderful restaurant delivery service where you can order meals from nearly any restaurant in town; they will contact the restaurant and deliver the food to your room. We used the service to order dinner every night. The room was so pleasant, we didn't want to leave our hotel to eat downtown (plus my daughter was tired from a full day of snowboarding and I was suffering from altitude sickness!)

I don't have a bad thing to say about Wedgewood. My daughter had a blast, and I enjoyed the trip as well. The hotel was perfect. I can't wait to go back. We lucked out!

The convenient location was a big plus for this condo with the free shuttle stop, Four O'Clock run, the Snowflake lift, and a ski rental shop located just across the street. (The rental shop, by the way, allows you to keep your equipment there overnight and has a very helpful staff.)
We had 4 adults and 3 small kids and stayed in a 3 bedroom condo, which worked out perfectly. Each couple had a room and the kids shared the room with twin beds, that we put a blow up mattress in as well. The rooms were all decent size as were the bathrooms. At no time did the 7 of us feel on top of each other. The heat worked very well, we enjoyed our fireplace, and each room had a humidifier. Our couch was incredibly comfortable for relaxing on after a hard day on the slopes and the kitchen was adequately stocked with pots and pans for cooking dinner and breakfast. The only negative while staying there was that I found my bed to be uncomfortable.
Overall, the condo was clean, comfortable, and attractive.

We spent a week during the Christmas holidays at the Wedgewood Lodge. I had checked the reviews on line after the reservations had been made. Needless to say I was a bit leary and had considered canceling our reservations, but it was such a great rate, and we were not going to Breckenridge to hang out in the condos.
Long story short, the Wedgewood was great and we will be back. We stayed in a one bedroom loft, the carpet looked like it was new, and the condo was filled with brand new Ashley Furnture. The condo was clean and decorated nicely. The mattresses where so comfortable and after a long day on the slopes, the place was perfect and such a great location!!!!!!
The hot tub was clean and HOT!
The staff was kind and helpful. We look forward to going back again and again!!!!
