“A touch of history, a touch of béarnaise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

The restaurant is in an old house, dating back to the mining days. It's warm and friendly, with good service and terrific food. I've eating here at least once the past four years and have never found it wanting. You'll want a reservation, it's a popular spot. They have good steaks, tasty fish and usually some wild game or several specials. I had elk tenderloin last night and it was wonderful. Great crab cakes and escargot for appetizers as well. So go and enjoy!

“Great historic atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

A wonderful old building creates a special ambiance. The food and service were excellent. $20-$40 meals were well worth the price.

“Who doesnt Love a good steak?!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This place was WONDERFUL! The restaurant stationed in a very old building filled with family photos and historical tokens. We made a reservation (which they recommend) and we were greeted up front by one of the restaurants owners and seated immediately. We sat in the upstairs section in a large 6 person booth. The servers and staff were extremely professional, incorporating a fine dining mannerism with hints of fun and personal involvement. My water glass never went unfilled, my table never cluttered with dirty plates and my wine glass never empty. Now the food! We ordered an array of things. The escargots appetizer was by far the best ive ever had, soaked in lemon butter with spinach and Parmesan cheese! I ordered the filet mingon medium rare with mashed potatoes. The filet was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the perfect size, wrapped in bacon of course! The potatoes were perfectly creamy with just the right amount of garlic and butter. The plate also came with a side of corn and watermelon adding a perfect balance. My friends ordered everything from the beef stroganoff to the chicken to the surf and turf and had nothing bad to say. The SECOND time we went i ordered the french onion soup, amazing, served in a small crock covered in cheese and filled with bread, as well as the rip sampler. I also got the Pirate Punch, and oh man did it pack a punch absolutely delicious. The bbq sauce was to die for! nice and smokey/tangey. Next time we are in breck we wil definitely be going back!

“What an overpriced disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We were a group of 6 people...two were long time Breckenridge locals. The locals had really presented this as Breckenridge's best restaurant...well, heaven help Breckenridge if this is their best...the service was wonderful and our waitress was lovely and very nice but the food was awful....heavy over sauced entrees with uninspired accompaniments. My entree was dry and over cooked, my husband's was swimming in a floury, thick, gelatinous, tastless, mushroom and artichoke sauce....I would never go back to this restaurant.

“Good wine, Bad food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Let's just say one thing, bad chicken which was under cooked, and raw, unacceptable. The wine was delicious, and the rest of the food was okay. Over priced and will never return.
