My husband, I, and our 2 sons (ages 14 and 17) just returned from Colorado. We stayed in the Mountain Thunder Lodge in a 2 bedroom condo in the main building. This is the second time we have stayed here.

The room was beautiful with everything you could ask for. We had a problem last year with the room being very warm. This year the room temp was perfect.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The shuttle service to the mountains or in town was fantastic. We never had to wait long for a ride.

I have read reviews about the construction. They are building townhomes right behind where our room was located. We were never bothered by noise.

It's a great place to stay!!!

Great place people are very friendly. Only complaint is they need to upgrade the beds.

The we stayed here with our 4 children during spring break. The town was VERY crowded! However the lodge was quiet and peaceful. The staff was nice and ready with suggestions for places to eat. The rooms are beautiful and have plenty of space. We had a three bedroom condo. It was really quite large. It had three bathrooms which was great with all the kids. The master bathroom has a seperate shower stall. The only problem is that it is very hot. You have to open the window for an hour or so and then shut it when it got to cold. We were never bothered by any noise inside or outside (even when the windows were opened). There are fans and humidifiers in the rooms. These also helped with the heat. (I really can't imagine staying here in the summer). The view from the room was breathtaking! They have a shuttle that will take you around town if you ask the front desk. Definitely do this if the town is crowded. There is nowhere to park in the whole town! There are some resturaunts that are in walking distance. The town is quaint and we found several good places to eat. I would recommend this lodge.

My friends and I have just returned from Mountain Thunder Lodge and had an amazing time. To give you an idea of the apartment quality we saw a 2 bedroomed condo for sale for $625,000.

The apartment was fantastic, very clean, modern and sound proofed!. The staff were very friendly and the hotel offered a shuttle bus to take you to and from the slopes and into the town, which was very useful although it was possible to ski to the door by following the 4 o clock run.

Compared to skiing in europe we found the lift passes very expensive and there was no cost advantage of buying a weeks pass vs a daily pass. Although if you take a day trip to vail it is best to buy your pass first in Breck as it is a little cheaper.

Breckenridge is one of the highest resorts in America (which we didn't realise) and we met a lot of people who got altitude sickness and needed oxygen(including myself)
