Just returned from a 3 night stay at Mountain Thunder Lodge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo and really enjoyed it. The condo is quite large and nicely decorated. Everything is fairly new. The rooms are really oversized and especially the bathrooms have lots of room. The kitchen is fully stocked: coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven. There is also a washer/dryer in the unit. Make sure you bring your own soap.

The only negative I found was the temperature system. There is only one thermostat and it's in the family room next to the fire place. That room would get warm therefore the heat would not kick on in the bedrooms unless you pushed it up to near 85 degrees. Not a big deal though.

The shuttle system worked great. There was always a shuttle van waiting to take us to the slopes in the morning. You can ski right to the lodge when you are finished for the day. Very convenient!

Would definitely recommend the Mountain Thunder Lodge and would stay here again!

My husband and our 12 yr old boys just returned from a trip to Breckenridge and loved our accomodations at Mountain Thunder Lodge. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our 2 BR condo was great and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking full meals. You could ski the four 'oclock trail all the way to the back door of the main building. I will most definitely stay there again when we return to Breck next year. The town is absolutely charming.

We stayed Dec 30 - jan 7 2005. Absolutely everything we could have wanted. Granite countertops, fully equipped kitchen with dishes, utensils, coffee, everything was there. Beautifully decorated with very new furnishings. Extra large bathroom with double vanity. Huge walk in shower with seperate tub. The service was excellent. They have a free shuttle that will take you to and from anywhere you want to go in Breckenridge at any time. Everyone was just great here - Definately recommend and would stay there anytime I return. The only thing I would do different is buy more food to cook in my condo. The food in Breckenridge is average. We dined at alot of nice places but to our disappointment, nothing was great. It is very overpriced for what you get. That is the only "complaint" i have concerning Breckenridge.

We stayed at this hotel in Aug. 2005. While the hotel, itself is an excellent facility, the staff was nasty and the construction was unbearable. Unfortunately, the construction will not be finished in 2005. The owner has multiple buildings planned which obviously will be a problem for years to come. The staff was nasty (presumably because we arranged for our stay through an agent). The owner is still selling units and seems to care more about this than the care of the guests (similar to a time share sell). The units do not have air conditioning which was a real problem, especially with the construction noise. I would look elsewhere. Note: Vail has an extensive construction project ongoing. Beware.
