This resort deserves the title of "best in Breckenridge". We stayed the weekend of Nov 5th, 2005. We were greeted by lovely Mary at the front desk who could not have been more gracious and helpful. She let us pick which room we liked best by letting us check out two different rooms with different views. The lobby is totally western feeling, a big fireplace, wide plank floors, very rustic and charming, and totally inviting.
The hallways are carpeted in a rich maroon colored carpet, the room doors have very charming doors, and outside each door is a quaint lamp shaded sconce. A very nice touch. We stayed in the one bedroom which was large and comfortable, complete with full kitchen, gas fireplace, and sleep sofa. The hotel is in walking distance (just two blocks) from the very charming main street. This is a place that has been fiercely protected from overgrowth and overexpansion and what a geat job the zoning board has done in preserving the town. The only "chain" shop we found was Starbucks, but a very covert one. You will enjoy the shops and restaurants and just strolling along enjoying the mountain air and the magnificent views. Don't hesitate to book here.
