“Very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Very clean room, entry and hallways. Efficient kitchen. Lovely grounds. We were in a room near the pool which was nice but a little noisy. Will go again.

I was part of an extended family group staying in three different units at this property. We had three different generations, and children ranging from a baby to age 12. The location was excellent -- it was easy to walk to town, to walk to the gondola, to access the path, and was close by to many attractions. The kids loved the pool, although it was a bit chilly for some of the adults. Overall, what impressed us most was the service provided. For example, the first night we had an issue with our refrigerator on a Sunday evening and within 20 minutes we had an engineer at the unit. The next day we received a follow-up call to make sure that things have been taken care of. Throughout our four night stay, everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful and genuinely seem to like their jobs.

Room Tip: warning -- the rooms overlooking the pool can be quite noisy

We spent two days in Breckenridge at the Mountain Thunder Lodge. We stayed there based on the reviews of previous customers, and it certainly lived up to its billing. It was pricey for us, but worth the cost for just two days. It was clean, modern, and spacious. The service was excellent, and the location is great, just up the hill from downtown.

Overall decent condo, though pricier than I would expect for what it was (compared to condo we had in park city last summer).
No AC, so a little stuffy when we came back in the afternoon from hiking. Chairs on the porch/patio uncomfortable. If I went back I'd ask to not be facing the pool- we listened to yelling kids 15 feet away from our room throughout the late afternoon and early evening, and you had to have the windows open to cool down the place. I think an upper floor (we were on the first floor) facing a different direction would have been much nicer.

Good wifi signal, easy walk to main street.

Family of 4 staying in a 2 bed townhouse, we were delighted with the place. Quiet, short walk to main st and very vy nicely appointed accommodation as well as helpful and friendly staff. Free shuttle bus will take you around too which was great. Highly recommended!!!

We stayed in Unit 5405 at Mountain Thunder Lodge over the Fourth of July weekend (4 nights). It is a 3-BR, 3-bathroom unit, and my husband and I stayed there with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. We were all very impressed with how nice this lodge, and this unit in particular (which apparently was a privately-owned condo) was. It was nicely furnished and immaculately clean. We had a mountain view, which we loved. Management was very helpful, even supplying tape and scissors so we could repair my husband's glasses, which he broke the very first morning of our trip! The only suggestions I would have would be to put flat-screen TVs in the living room and bedrooms instead of the old style TVs which are currently there; and the mattresses, although not terrible, are beginning to show their age a little. We had some pool noise in the evenings (pool is open until 10 p.m.) which I did not find particularly bothersome, but with the windows open for the nice mountain air did present a little problem getting and keeping the preschoolers asleep. The units themselves are extremely quite, no noise from other units at all. We recommend Mountain Thunder and this particular unit highly and would return for another vacation there. Note: There is underground parking for one car per unit, at least in the building where we stayed. There is also a free shuttle into town, very prompt - you just tip the driver.

Room Tip: If you think pool noise would bother you, you should request a unit away from the pool.

This was our second time staying here in 2 years. All I can say is WOW! Totally consistant and wonderful! We stayed for 5 days this time and what a beautiful time of year in Breckenridge. The staff go above and beyond taking care of our every need. It is wonderfully maintained and is in the greatest area. Close to the gondolas, the city market grocery store, a great mini mall that has anything you would need, on the bus route, 3 blocks from downtown and surrounded by the most beautiful scenery anywhere. Breckenridge is our new favorite in Colorado, and Mountain Thunder is our favorite place for convenience, comfort and all around fun! Thanks!

Room Tip: Hot tubs/pool area are wonderful!
