A group of us went to the Powederhorn Condos for a bachelorette party. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a bit dated in furnishings, and the amenities were sparse, but it was a full condo with a close proximity to the slopes and downtown.
The condo had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen. The bedroom were decent; one bedroom had two twin beds and the other had a king and were large enough for the beds and a dresser, and the mattresses were fairly comfortable. The bathrooms had shower/bath tub combos and were pretty small, but no problems with hot water or pressure. The entryway had seating and hooks for jackes and racks for skis. The living room had three couches and other seating, a TV with cable, and a gas fireplace that worked on a thermostat. The dining room had a large table, and the kitchen was full-sized with a breakfast bar. It had a fair amount of supplies, like pots and pans and silverware, but only for pretty basic cooking. There wasn't really any food products beyond salt and pepper. The decoration of the condo was a bit dated and very cabin-y. There was also a balcony that we really didn't use since it was pretty cold. The best thing about the condo were very large picture windows that looked out into the forest and at a creek. You could see the ski lift from the windows. It was a beautiful view.
The amenities were sparse - thin towels, cheap soaps, etc. They did provide menu books with all the local restaurants and delivery services (which was really helpful) as well as a shopping directory. In the living room, there was also a couple of boardgames and puzzles. However, we didn't expect much "extras" (it is a condo situation, after all), and any shortcomings were more than made up by the location.
It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the ski lifts from the condo, which meant we could come and go throughout the day.
There was also open parking and a covered garage with a reserved space.
The condos were close to downtown Breckenridge. It would be possible to walk it, but it really is at the end of the main street, so it was better to drive. But the drive was only 5-10 minutes to any part of Breckenridge. We felt that we had really great access to the town.
The main office also provides ski/snowboard rental, including clothing, and they offer a 10% discount to Powderhorn customers.
Overall, a fun place to stay with a group who wants easy access to the slopes and main street. The kitchen was a great plus. The hotel was easily accessible, had good parking, and was comfortable.
