“Great location, close to lifts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2011

Great location, just a short walk to lifts. Condo was a little dated but not too bad. We visited the first week of January and got a great deal, half the cost of other ski in/ski out condos in the area (in which you usually end up walking a little way to lift anyway!) I would stay here again. Only real complaint was that website listed a "shared" clubhouse with pool and hot tub, we never found it. Apparently it is across the street and down a block, not exactly going to walk a block in my bathing suit soaking wet in 10 degree weather! TIP: Rent your skis at Breckenridge Sports at the base and you can store them there overnight, no walking in ski boots carrying skis and pole!

A group of us went to the Powederhorn Condos for a bachelorette party. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a bit dated in furnishings, and the amenities were sparse, but it was a full condo with a close proximity to the slopes and downtown.

The condo had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen. The bedroom were decent; one bedroom had two twin beds and the other had a king and were large enough for the beds and a dresser, and the mattresses were fairly comfortable. The bathrooms had shower/bath tub combos and were pretty small, but no problems with hot water or pressure. The entryway had seating and hooks for jackes and racks for skis. The living room had three couches and other seating, a TV with cable, and a gas fireplace that worked on a thermostat. The dining room had a large table, and the kitchen was full-sized with a breakfast bar. It had a fair amount of supplies, like pots and pans and silverware, but only for pretty basic cooking. There wasn't really any food products beyond salt and pepper. The decoration of the condo was a bit dated and very cabin-y. There was also a balcony that we really didn't use since it was pretty cold. The best thing about the condo were very large picture windows that looked out into the forest and at a creek. You could see the ski lift from the windows. It was a beautiful view.

The amenities were sparse - thin towels, cheap soaps, etc. They did provide menu books with all the local restaurants and delivery services (which was really helpful) as well as a shopping directory. In the living room, there was also a couple of boardgames and puzzles. However, we didn't expect much "extras" (it is a condo situation, after all), and any shortcomings were more than made up by the location.

It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the ski lifts from the condo, which meant we could come and go throughout the day.

There was also open parking and a covered garage with a reserved space.

The condos were close to downtown Breckenridge. It would be possible to walk it, but it really is at the end of the main street, so it was better to drive. But the drive was only 5-10 minutes to any part of Breckenridge. We felt that we had really great access to the town.

The main office also provides ski/snowboard rental, including clothing, and they offer a 10% discount to Powderhorn customers.

Overall, a fun place to stay with a group who wants easy access to the slopes and main street. The kitchen was a great plus. The hotel was easily accessible, had good parking, and was comfortable.

Powderhorn Condominiums are very spacious, have underground parking, and are a short walk form the Quicksilver lift and ski school. Easily walk to town. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the location. We found our unit through vacation rental by owner.

We stayed on New Years week. Our condo was in excellent condition, very close to the Super 6 Lift and the Maggie.

There is underground cover parking, the units are very spaciuos, and while we where in a very busy week, it was very quiet and comfortable.

Ski rentals and the list are a 100 yds away, so we did not have to move the car and avoided parking problems. The Ski school is also at the Maggie, so we were right where we wanted to be

We are looking forward to stay again in Powderhorn.

There are 3 buildings and other units could be different.

Stayed here with my wife and one other couple for one week in early March '05. I have also stayed with my family and we love this place. It is not super fancy. But it is clean, spacious and a great location. Only two blocks from Main St and less than 100 yards from the Quicksilver lift. Great value for the location and space. Also has undergroung parking to keep your car free of the snow. Would recomend to anyone who doesn't need a fancy resort with valet service in order to be happy. I will certainly visit again.

We have stayed at the Powderhorn Condo's many times and have always had a good experience. The condo's have large bedrooms and living areas. The location is great with an easy walk to base 9 or to town. There are elevators, which is handy if you are on the top floor (great views). The condo we stayed in recently was remodeled with new appliances and updated furniture, had a handy washer and dryer and 3 1/2 bathrooms. The larger corner condo's can accomodate 2-3 families or a large group quite well.

We stayed at the Powderhorn Condominiums in August. The condo was outstanding. It offered everything we wanted. Beautiful accommodations. Three balconies, all looking out at the mountains, and a stream running along side the units. Swimming pool and hot tub. The unit we stayed in A-405 was huge. Our friends stayed at Mt. Thunder Lodge and they were jealous of the spaciousness and luxury of our accommodations at Powderhorn. The location is perfect - within easy walking distance of all the restaurants and shops in Breckenridge. I was so excited to find this treasure, with Ski in and Ski out, that I have already booked the unit for the 2005 ski season.
