“Sadly disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Paid waaaaay too much money to stay in a very average room...Be very careful to not confuse their properties: Grand Timber Lodge and Grand Lodge are VERY different! I agree that it is not a ski in ski out facility. The room was nothing to boast about, for sure, the misleading staff were frustrating, the whole experience put a huge damper on our 5 year anniversary "get away" that we were so excited about!

Room Tip: If you so desire a porch/balcony...you must request a 2+Bedroom Suite...if the information is correc...

We truly regret your stay with us did not meet your expectations. We encourage guests to contact our Front Desk during their stay if they need anything to enhance their experience. Our goal is to make your stay as memorable and relaxing as possible. Grand Timber Lodge is within 20-100 yards of a ski lift or trail, depending on which building you are staying in. Our sister resort, Grand Lodge on Peak 7, as you mentioned, is considered slope-side. Again, we are disappointed to hear your stay was not exceptional but we are always grateful for feedback from our guests.

“Another Fantastic Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We stayed at Grand Timber in January while in town for the International Snow Sculpting Championships. This resort is #1 in our resort list. The staff is exceptional, always willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay memorable. They are conveniently located between town and the ski runs. The complementary shuttle will take you wherever you want to go in town. The drivers are friendly and knowledgeable, know the best places to shop and eat to help make your vacation $$ go farther. We consider GTL as our home away from home and would not consider staying anywhere else. The rooms are clean, well equipped with everything you need, very roomy and comfy. If you crave a bit of luxury, but must stay within a budget, give them a try' you won't be dissapointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, buildings five and six are best if you have young children as they are close to...

“decent accomodations but terrible parking and inept staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

not a bad place, nice hot tub/pool area, they call themselves ski-in/ski-out and this is only partially true. my beef is that after coming here for many years they have continually have a problem with providing adequate parking despite requesting premium prices for their facilities. two nights in a row I was in building 5 and coming in at 9pm I was left with only one option in my building to park. On both nights the only slot left had a car that had parked so far away from a column on its right side that i needed a shoe horn to fit into the only remaining space. When a local attendant saw how poorly the other person had parked she called security, requesting they ask the individual to move their car. Instead, 20min later the front desk 'girl' called me to tell me that it was I who was in the wrong, that my tires were actually over the line into the other idiots space thus making it hard for them to get into their door. i admit I was furious, i have paid $3000 for five nights (2BR) and they cant even let me and my family of five park in our own building. And then to make me park several buildings away b/c some jackwad is so selfish as to not see that he has lots of room, plenty to allow both vehicles to park in the area. The staff 'girl' was not very pleasant, security was very professional and did what they were told to do by the inept front desk 'girl'. If im going to pay this amount for lodging here in the future I'll do it somewhere that allows me to park within 100yds. But it wont be in "grand" Timber.

Room Tip: not building 5, cant guarantee you'll get a parking spot there

We are very disappointed to hear your stay with us did not meet your expectations and deeply apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with our parking garages. It is a company standard to deliver superior customer service. All staff are fully trained and inform our guests at check-in that parking is always guaranteed at the resort, but is not guaranteed in any particular building. Your feedback is appreciated and we thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

“Well Appointed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We stayed in a one bedroom unit at Grand Timber Lodge in the past via a timeshare exchange. This time we took a budget approach in a studio unit. It was really nice and a good value for the price. The unit was well appointed and quite comfortable. There was room for two people to move around and feel like each still had some space.
In addition, our unit and all the common area we saw was quite clean. I didn't see, dust, discoloration or any non-descript creepy stuff that you often see in corners, etc.
The shuttle staff and servers in the Lodgepole restaurant were personable and made you feel welcome.
I recommended it.

“Awesome Winter Get Away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We recently stayed at Grand Timber Lodge and had an amazing time! Comfortable accomodations that felt like home! We had a 2 BR condo, and we stayed with our 3 young children (10, 7 and 5). We kept the fire place roaring and enjoyed relaxing meals in the fully stocked kitchen after long days on the slopes. There was great snow, and we really enjoyed the convenient location of the lodge. We also utilized the free shuttle service that brought us into town and over to the ski lift. We did bring a rental car, and I have seen people complain about the parking garage, but our SUV was no problem - parking garages are a tight fit wherever you go! The heated sidewalks and heated parking garage made getting around easy. Our kids enjoyed the heated pool every evening and we used the DVD rental service. Convenient to rent ski and snow boarding equipment for Christie's on site, and received a 20% discount for staying at the hotel. The staff was friendly and we would love to come back.

Room Tip: We stayed in building 3, which was conveniently located next to the main building and pool. It was...
