“Great place, wonderful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2011

We stayed with our friends for one night at Grand Lodge at Peak 7. They own a timeshare and use Grand Lodge at peak 7 quite often for day use and bonus time when they can.
We thought that theGrand lodge was beautiful and well equiped with every thing you could possibly want. The decor was beautfiul and the furniture was very nice/well made as well (not like the 70's style you often find at some of the older lodges at some ski resorts). The furniture and beds were all very comfotable. You can tell that the developer spent extra on little considerations to make sure that the needs of the travelers were met. Noise proof rooms/doors are great, by the way (we had a child throwing a tantrum who was put in time out. Closed the door and heard nothing. :)
We utilized the free lift ticket offer and went through the tour for the timeshare. Not alot of pressure on the presentation, and we did decide to buy into it for the following reasons:
1) We loved the indoor/outdoor pool with slide and Jacuzzi's. The kids played for hours (ages 8, 6, & 3)! We will utilize "bonus time" when we are able.
2) The location of the lodge can't be beat. It truly is a ski in and ski out with a gorgeous mountain and a lift out the back door...great skiing, by the way!
3) Easy access to Peak 8... just a very short gondola ride away from kids ski school, rentals, etc
4) Great kids activities like the theatres, game room, etc.

Here are a couple of reasons that we didn't give the lodge a 5 star rating:

1) We stayed on the 2nd floor and had "heat" issues. There is no air conditioning so we had to turn off the heat and open the windows in order to cool down (in January!).
2) My husband thought the rooms were on the smaller side, I was ok with the size.
3) Saturday afternoon the pool and the lobby (grand room) seemed very crowded. I don't think they are planning on adding any more pool facilities, but are adding another building. Just wondering what the crowds will be like next year. Also, hoping that "day parking" won't be an issue.

Overall we would defintley recommend Grand Lodge at Peak 7. There are so many reasons to love this place. We will be going there as much as we can to utilize "bonus time"!
As a side note: very occasionally we may get to vacation at the Broadmoor in CS so we have been spoiled by the unparralled service and facilities there. Because of our expereince there, we may be a little hard on these guys. I am not sure If the Grand Lodge at Peak 7 is looking to give that kind of experience, but perhaps if they step up the service up a notch, they may get there... maybe?! Hopefully!

When we first stayed here as guests we were treated like royalty. After we became owners we have been treated like second class citizens. We have stayed three times. Everytime we stay, we listen in on and hear from other guests all the upgrades, benefits, extras they have been offered but we get nothing. The last time we stayed was the worst. At 11:00 am we arrived and knew full well that we can't check in till 4:00pm. We were going to ski but one of our children became sick. We asked to be notified as soon as a room became available. I checked in every hour to be told no rooms were available. I stood in line behind families that checked into the exact same size room as we had reserved all day long. They had no problem offering these rooms to other people but not to an owner with a sick child. They were supposed to call is immediately when a room became available. Finally at 4;01 I went to the desk and magically our room was now available. It is a beautiful resort the location is perfect, they just need to get their customer service to match it.

Thank you for writing a review of your stay at Grand Lodge on Peak 7. We sincerely apologize for your less than satisfactory experience during check-in. You are correct that we can’t guarantee check-in prior to 4pm due to our housekeeping schedule. However, we can certainly appreciate your frustrations given the extenuating circumstance of having a sick child while traveling. Our goal is for each employee to take personal responsibility for creating great vacations, and we will use the feedback you have provided in order to better train the Front Desk staff at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7. Again, we are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations and we hope to do better in the future!

In addition, as an owner, we would like to share that you are able to utilize a number of benefits that are only available to owners. These exclusive benefits include Bonus Time, Resort Privileges, Merchant Discounts, Interval International, and much more! We would like to encourage you to contact our Owner Relations Department so that we can help you maximize your ownership at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and all the added benefits your ownership entitles you to.

The Grand Lodge was worth every penny. We chose a 1 Bedroom for 4 of us which had a large kitchen, a king bed, and a pull out queen bed/couch in the living room; we had plenty of room. (NOTE:The 1 room suites/studios don't have a kitchen/eating area and are very dark and claustrophobic). This was a last minute trip for my daughter, her friends , and I to ski and relax. We chose it for the location and that could not be beat by anything! There are multiple hot spas/pools at the back door which is at the foot of the ski lift. People were literally taking off their skis and stripping down to bathing suits within 2 minutes in the locker rooms and then right into the spas. Heaven! Ski rentals are at the back door. The gondola to the ski schools and more lifts is also only a few steps from the lodge. There is a great fitness room, nice spa, fabulous indoor pool area for kids, private indoor spa area for adults, decent restaurant (with great service), and absolutely fantastic shuttle service from the hotel to anywhere in town all day/evening long. We never waited more than a few minutes for our ride (other hotels had shuttles but we noticed people were waiting a very long time).
This is a timeshare facility and so I took the offer of $150 spa dollars (or $100 VISA card) to sit thru the presentation. It was a very pleasant discussion and although tempting I said no. No problem and I had my spa dollars.

Thank you for writing a review of your stay at Grand Lodge on Peak 7! The location of Grand Lodge can truly not be beat by any property in town. Ski out and in through the back door, and take some time to warm up in one of the several hot tubs located on property following your day on the slopes. The free shuttle is an incredibly convenient way to get around town. The amenities at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 are unmatched in Breckenridge; we offer a full-service spa, restaurant, 2 movie theaters, a game room, pools and hot tubs.

We checked in on a sunday. The check in time is 4:00 sharp and they took our phone number to notify us in case our room was ready early. We did not receive a phone call, but occupied our time with the amenities in and near the resort. It is located at the base of Peak 7 so the convenience of a ski in/ski out location is wonderful!! Day use while you are waiting for your room included access to the indoor/outdoor pool, spa, and arcade. There is a restaurant (Seven) attached to the hotel (operated by another company) for you to get food when you do not want to cook your own meals. We had a 2 bedroom unit which later dropped to a suite after half of our party left. Two families with 5 children ages 7 to 1 stayed in this unit and the size was perfect. The suite has everything you need for a quick meal (stovetop, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator) just no dining room table like in the 1 bedroom units. A huge compliment to the hotel construction is the sound proofing between rooms. I could not believe the amount of noise that was filtered out. The room was very clean and new. Granite counters, stainless appliances....even the little studio had a mini dishwasher--convenient! My only two complaints would be the lighting in the bathrooms and our inability to regulate our room temperature. They use the energy efficient bulbs, which is very green, but not convenient for make up application. We stayed on the second floor which is partially open to the lobby area (with a fireplace) so we kept our heat on 50 and burned up all night long. Wow!! Luckily we were able to open our windows and let the 20 degree air cool the room for us. Brrr...Slept better with it cracked one inch the second night. The fold out sofa was definitely the most comfortable fold out we have ever exposed our kids to ;-)

For skiing we kept our skis and boots in a locker outside of the hotel in a heated room near the ticket offices. There is a ticket counter right out the back door of the restaurant. Grand lodge also has a convenient shuttle service that will pick you up and deliver you to any town location. However, it is your responsibility to call. The front desk will not do it for you. Parking is nicely laid out and they have just opened the second underground garage. As far as construction noise goes we could hear occasional warning alarms (vehicles backing up), but it was very minimal. We also slept with our windows open, so it couldn't have been too bad :-) We will be returning in January for another weekend stay. Our requests would be to have a room which looks at Peak 7 and is not on the second floor.

Grand Lodge on Peak 7 is one of the newest and most well-appointed vacation properties in Breckenridge. Not only is the Independence SuperChair located right out the back door, but there is also a free shuttle to take guests into town. All units (one-bedroom or larger) at Grand Lodge are incredibly spacious, and boast granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a gas fireplace and a large balcony. When creating the new Grand Lodge, the developers wanted all guests to have every possible convenience and we have truly made that happen. Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 – it is very much appreciated!

We stayed for a week during the early summer months and had a wonderful stay. We were not sure what to expect originally because we had heard they had construction going on here at the time and that it could be noisey and that it started early in the morning hours. Turns out, they did have construction going on, but they waited until after 8 to begin and it wasn't terribly loud like I thought it might be. Maybe we were having too much fun in the pool and outdoor patio area to notice! This place is wonderful for young kids. Mine are ages 7, 6 and 1. They have a nice indoor swimming area that is zero depth entry and another indoor/outdoor area that is deeper and a huge hot tub. They also have an outdoor waterslide where our 7 and 6 year old could have been happy just swimming all day every day if we would have let them! The outdoor area has bbq grills and a wonderful huge firepit, which we sat at every night and enjoyed the beauty of the area. They have 2 movie theatres (which was free!) you just had to reserve the space. Also a very fun arcade for both kids and adults. The hiking trail is literally just about 50 feet from the front door and the ski slopes are right out the back off the patio area. We are determined to make it back for skiing season at some point. Oh yeah, and the room was very clean and spacious (not that we were in there much!). If you are looking for a place to stay in Breckenridge where you won't be disappointed, this is it!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review the Grand Lodge on Peak 7. I apologize if you were disturbed by the construction noise; I do know in the winter, construction work will be considerably less noticeable. The Grand Lodge on Peak 7 is a great vacation resort for anyone: couples looking for a romantic getaway, families with young children, and active adults. The amenities are unmatched, with a spa and large exercise room, Sevens Restaurant, 2 movie theaters, and a number of hot tubs and heated pools, just to name a few! In addition, the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 is as ski-in/ski-out as you can possibly get, and a hiking trail for snowshoeing in the winter, and biking or hiking in the summer.

Arrived early Sat. evening. Check in easy, given a room on the 2nd floor. I explained that I had called months before requesting a room on the highest floor was it still possible? They put us on the 4th floor. 1bd. unit facing the construction site. View at eye level was incredible, if you looked down all you saw was a construction site. I have been to several resorts where construction in on going but this was the worst! At exactly 8 am all you heard was workers yelling back and forth to each other as well as the BEEP BEEP sound that trucks make while they are backing up. We were told "some" noise, NOT true noise was very loud!!! Thank goodness we are early risers. This was my only disappointment about the resort.
1 bd. unit comes fully equiped, they even provide a crockpot for you. Everyone goes out of their way to make you at home. There was even one occasion when we were outside about to walk down to the village (2miles) and it started to rain, one of the employees was going down to the village and offered us a ride. By that time we had already called the free shuttle to pick us up. Grotto spa (adult only) is wonderful and relaxing. We also reserved the movie theater one night just for the 2 of us. Fitness center is state of the art. They have 2 hiking trails just outside the resort. Great hiking! Free underground parking.
We enjoy our stay very much! Would return to this resort.

We exchanged into this resort using the II system and were pleasantly surprised! We expected the newness as it is a newer resort but didn't expect the granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances! This is a very eco-friendly "green" resort also which I really appreciated. We stayed in a 2 bedroom lock-out which worked out perfectly as my brother and sister in law were joining us from MO. Our room overlooked the east side of the resort and had a nice sized balcony. Our only complaint was two chairs accompanied the deck and should have been 4. We asked for 2 more to be delivered but never heard back. The lobby is exceptionally beautiful complete with a piano and fireplace. They have fresh lemon water for your pleasure. Although small, the pool was an indoor/outdoor type. The spa is also nice along with a more than fully equipped weight/exercise room. They also have two private movie theaters for usage free of charge and seat 12-14 people. Reserve early as they were both occupied by early evening. A complimentary shuttle will take you to downtown Breckenridge as it is too far to walk anywhere as the resort is a ski -in, ski out. If flying in for skiing purposes, no need to rent a car. Just take a mountain shuttle from DIA to Breck. The resort also has a hiking trail head adjacent to the parking lot. It should also be noted their is ongoing construction at this resort and will be for some time.NOTE: DO NOT RENT A JEEP FROM MOUNTAIN JEEP RENTALS - If you need further, P.M. me and I will explain.
