“Last ski trip of 2014-15 winter”

This is one of the best places in Breck. It is truly ski-in-ski-out, not just close by but actually at the entrance of a lift. As a result it does put you up the mountain a bit, they address that by an on-call shuttle that works well to get you into town. They are definitely in the business of selling times share units so you got to deal with all that. I would rather just pay and enjoy the mountain, great food, spa and pool! Avoid a room anywhere near the ski locker area as it smells very gym-like.

Room Tip: The ground floor where the ski lockers are located smells like a gym

We were given the worst room in the resort, in direct view of the front door of the resort so no privacy whatsoever. In addition, it was directly under the garage doors so we got to hear that going up and down all hours of the day and night, and if that isn't bad enough, we were also within earshot of the side entrance large metal door which slammed shut all hours of the day and night. Upon arriving in the room and seeing this issue, I called the front desk who were not the least bit interested in getting me another room even though people were arriving and leaving constantly so I know there were others available. Then we decided not to ski on Friday, and both the TV and wifi were out that entire day. Do yourself a favor and find another place to stay.

We have been snow skiing many times at various resorts, including Breckenridge. This was our first time to stay here and it is my new favorite lodge for several reasons. It is truly a ski-in, ski-out, and is in a great location. There is a wonderful restaurant (Sevens) in the lodge, as well as many activities available (including a spa and fitness center) for skiers and non-skiers, families with small children as well as couples. Everything, including the location is well thought out and the info on the website is spot on. Three of us were in a one-bedroom and one-bathroom, but the design worked very well. There were two sections in the bathroom which included three sinks, one shower, one tub and a large countertop, so literally 3 of us could get ready at the same time, but with privacy. Towel and trash service was daily and there was also plenty of places to put our trash, including a separate place for recycled items. Our room faced the front of the building, so I'm not sure if this is the reason why the place seemed so much quieter than other places we have stayed. Often, the stomping of ski boots on the floor wakes me up in the mornings, but I didn't hear any of this. A restful and nice place to stay. It would also be amazing in the summer!

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor, facing the front parking lot. It was quiet.

The location of the lodge is perfect for skiing! The lodge is at the base of one of the main lift areas for the mountain. You can literally go from the slopes right into the ski locker room. They had a wearable plastic bracelet in the place of room keys that was very convenient. We had a spacious 2 bedroom unit that could be rented separately. We had a rental car, and we did not use the hotel shuttle so I cannot comment on it. However, there is only one restaurant and a very small convenience store on property, so be aware that this property is not adjacent to the town and you will need alternate transportation. We were asked about the time share but there was no pressure. The only real negative about the property was their insane parking policy. You are required to have your car off the property by the 10am checkout! No exceptions unless you are an owner. I have never encountered people so possessive of a parking space. Since our unit had 2 bedrooms we were allotted 2 spaces and even though we did not fly out until late we had to vacate the premises! I can understand needing to be out of the room so they can clean it for the next guest, but they are also militant about their 4pm check in time-soooooo why couldn't we use 1 of our parking spaces until then? The parking lot was never even close to full the whole time we were there. Still shaking my head. . . Aside from the parking issue we really enjoyed our stay!

Dear jm009793,

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor! We're glad you enjoyed our wonderful location, right by the lifts. The Independence chair lift is literally steps from our ski locker room which makes it very convenient to come and go as you please throughout the day. Although we only have one restaurant and snack shop on location, our complimentary shuttle can provide easy transportation into town to visit the many shops and restaurants Breckenridge has to offer.

I apologize for any inconvenience that was caused by our parking policy. Our policy is that anyone staying here can park all-day on the day of arrival. However, we are not able to allow this same benefit on the day of departure. Our owners have the privilege to reserve a parking spot to enjoy a day of skiing and our resort's wonderful amenities when they are not staying on property. We manage parking spot inventory just as we manage our room inventory. It's a benefit of being an owner and therefore limits our ability to allow renters and exchange guests to remain on property after check-out. During the weekdays we do not have as many owners reserving parking, so there would have been more spots available during the week. We are sorry that this took away from your overall enjoyment and I would be more than happy to speak with you in more detail about this policy.

Thank you again for the review and for staying at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7.

Sincerely,

Jason

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Our unit was extremely clean and had everything you would find in a hotel -- towels, toiletries, on-site dining, a spa and a gift shop. Our room overlooked the hot tubs and ski runs. The shuttle was efficient to get to town for dinner and the gym was nice as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the slopes to people watch. However, the sunset over the mountains on the...

Dear Brandee S,

We are so thankful that you took the time to share your experience at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7! We are glad to hear how much you enjoyed our amenities and our property during your stay. Our shuttle runs year round, and it is a quick and reliable way for our guests to have transportation into town. In the summer there are even more activities to enjoy than in winter, and we are located right next to hiking trails that offer beautiful views and often sights of local wildlife. It is also due to our wonderful location that we are able to offer great views of the surrounding mountains or of the town, and we are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your slope-side view.

Thank you again for taking the time to write and share this review. We hope to have you as our guest again soon!

Sincerely,

Jason

Grand Lodge was a great place to stay while skiing in Breckenridge. It is easy to get to and located right on peak 7. The resort has ample parking spaces and ski lockers for people that stay at the property. We really enjoyed having a kitchen in our room. Saved a lot of money from not having to eat out every day. This is a timeshare and they will ask if visitors would want to do a presentation but it is no pressure and they offer great incentives to listen for 90 minutes. It was a great trip and the snow was great.

Everything was wonderful. The staff is so helpful, helped with making reservation for dinner one night in town. Accommodated us with a "painting class" that was advertised the week prior, providing us with the supplies, area, etc. If time permits make appointment at the Spa-fabulous!

Room Tip: Opposite side from the lift, much quieter, the view is amazing.
