“Love GL7!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

I am an owner here so I am a bit biased, but I am always extremely pleased no matter the time of year! The facility (pools, hot tubs, fitness center, grotto) are beyond what you can find anywhere else in Breckenridge. The condo kitchens are well stocked and the rest of the condo is well appointed. We feel like we come "home" every day from hiking or skiing. There seems to be a lot of turnover at the front desk, but we rarely have to deal with them. New things in the past year are rubber bracelets instead of ugly non-removable paper (yea!) and a video rental kiosk for a flat fee. It makes me crazy to see people run around the resort in spa robes, which should not leave the spa area, but that is a people problem not a resort problem. I love coming here every year from the east coast and highly recommend it to anyone with discriminating taste.

Room Tip: The rooms slopeside can be noisy early in morning with grooming of slopes in winter!

We love the accomadations at the grand lodge on peak 7, but we feel that after buying the timeshare we know that we made one of the biggest mistakes of my entire life. We bought when we were there week 11 and we were told that getting that week should be no problem in future years. As a matter of fact the salesperson picked up the phone and scheduled for the next year and then said there you go- it is as easy as that(which was very misleading) FYI The only way for us to get that week is to rent it so they can get fresh meat to sell to) LOL after spending $45,000 we are now stuck with trying to find somewhere else to go or to rent where we already bought(they have plenty to rent to the general public) or of course we could buy a fixed week for more money which we have been reluctant to do under the circumstances. I don't know if every timeshare is like this, but if we only knew what we were getting into then we would have not given $.1 for it. The Grand Lodge has ruined our families vacations. Go visit if you want but do not buy.

Hi Joe M,

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to take this moment and welcome you into the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 Family.

Winter is a highly sought after time for our owners and as you can imagine, demand is higher than our supply. Regardless of season, we begin taking reservation requests on Tuesday’s, one year in advance. For example, this past year, owners called in on Tuesday March 19th, 2013 to reserve week 11 in 2014. These weeks fill up quickly, so we advise owners to call right at 9am on the first Tuesday their week is available.

I want to stress that we have thousands of very happy owners and many times touching base with our Owner Relations department can be very beneficial. We do apologize again that this is the experience you had. We hope to see you again in the future!

My sister and I visited Breckenridge recently on the last leg of a cross country trip. Accomodations were good (especially if you have kids under 12). Views from our top floor room were awesome and sunrises were spectacular. Breckenridge's downtown area has a nice selection of restaurants. The spa area was good and has an off limits to kids area so it's very relaxing. The place overall was in good shape and staff very attentive. When my sis asked me to sit through a sales pitch I hesitated but I must say it was one of the most enjoyable sales experiences I ever had. This Glen character made us laugh and cry and made us what we considered a reasonable deal. As a former CEO I have to say this company has a fairly polished sales process and made all my past feelings about vacation products like this go away. My sis and I were treated like royalty and she has already put together our next trip to Breckenridge. I would recommend this place to any family looking for plenty of things to do for small kids especially if you are skiing. One of the key things we liked is how their staff helped us find things to do in the area (especially Deb). My sister had some health and mobility issues and the entire staff was beyond helpful in making sure we still enjoyed all the area had to offer. They sent us on a easy downhill walk next door where we saw fox, golden eagles and even a moose! Overall the resort is one of the better ski area property's I've visited. We normally stay at Badrutt's Palace and the St. Moritz in Switzerland, but for the money this place is one of the better value's we have seen.

Room Tip: Top floor facing east in summer

Grand Lodge is at a very high altitude, so be aware of this!

Staff, facilities, location of the Lodge are first-class. It was a treat to look out at the multi ranges of mountains and compare the light as the day progressed. Great lobby, pools (indoor or outdoor), spa, hot tub, business office (with printer), heated indoor parking. Convenient to gondola which goes down to Breckenridge, so no need to take car when need to go to town. Be sure to go to City Market (grocery), which has most everything and has high quality. Also 'the best' Soupz restaurant next to grocery.

Ate at Kenosha Steakhouse three times! Also excellent restaurant Giampietro Pizzeria. Both are nicely priced.

Went to Oxygen Bar several times to alleviate altitude symptoms (at least temporarily!).

We had the most relaxing week. Loved the grotto and the rooms are a 10. You can pack your car away and take the gondola to town or the bus. Great home base for day trips too. Activities galore and great fitness center

We traded a timeshare via Interval International to stay at Peak 7. We had a master unit and a one bedroom unit. The master has living room, full kitchen, bedroom/king bed. The bathroom is divided into 2 sections, one with double vanity and large soaking tub and the other with sink, toilet and shower with two shower heads. This corner unit has large covered deck looking out on ski lift. The one bedroom unit (efficiency?) has bedroom/queen bed with small window. The living area is tiny with no windows, mini kitchen, no balcony, I would have been unhappy if all we had was the efficiency unit.
This is a dog friendly resort. That is a positive for us as we travel with a guide dog in training. We did not hear any other dogs, but did see some on weekends. There is a small gravel relieving area for dogs.
My only "complaint" is that initially, I found it difficult to find my way around the complex.
We definitely would like to return to this facility.

Room Tip: We had rooms 2111 D and C. This is a great location if traveling with a dog as it is near the exit...
