“Ski in/ski out, then warm up in steam room and soak in outdoor bath”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

We stayed there in January 2012. The place is amazing! Ski in/ski out was the main reason for our choice of this resort. Every day after skiing we went to steam room and jacuzzi to steam and soak frost from our bones and tiredness from our muscles :) I am personally a big fan of steam rooms and outdoor baths, so complementary facilities like that in a ski resort are a big lure for me :) The resort is very environmentally friendly. Breakfasts were delicious! Staff was nice. A couple of times we had hotel accessories missing from the room (one day we came back from skiing ready to go to the pool and spa, and found only one bathrobe in the room instead of two. the next day we had only one pair of slippers instead of two. Not sure what it was about, but we had a feeling that cleaning staff were playing a joke on us). But overall, we loved the place and the atmosphere, and definitely would come back!

Our family loved this resort! We went for the aspen turning gold to enjoy a gorgeous Fall weekend in Breck. We ended up spending way more time at this lovely resort b/c of the fabulous pool area & private bowling alley. The kids didn't want to do anything else! This was considered the "off season" so if you go at this time you must prepare to find the restaurants/room service not open. That was the only disappointing thing. This resort is a residence resort. So some ppl own these apts. All rooms/apts. (studios to 7 bedroom villas!) have gorgeous top of the line kitchens: Bosch appliances, wine storage even! Our unit was stocked adequately, however no pots could be found & no tea kettle. Solid wood doors/walls. Quiet & well built. We barely saw anyone else the whole weekend! Beds were comfortable, nice bathrooms w/tubs & showers. Granite, marble, stone as you'd expect. Good towels. Our 2 bedroom unit had a balcony, which overlooked the ski runs and Peak 8 or was it 9? Anyways, this would be absolutely ideal for skiers & children taking ski lessons! The Children's Ski School is steps away from the hotel. All is very convenient! Our children loved the kids indoor pool (0-2 feet w/zero entry). It also had water sprayers they could spray everywhere. There is also a small 3-4'6" ft. pool & 1 indoor hot tub along with 1 outdoor hot tub overlooking the ski runs. It also has a firepit outdoors. There is a dry sauna ( which never got hot enough) & a steam sauna. Womens, mens, & family changing rooms too. The fitness room was well equipped, but small. It looks out to the indoor pool area. Another hit with the kids was the private bowling alley called "Mine Shaft." 2 lanes, lounge areas w/chairs, tables. You must reserve it & I was told that during the peak seasons room service is available. Lastly, if you you don't want to drive into town, there is a shuttle. All in all a great trip. Looking forward to trying it during the ski season.

Room Tip: If you want to watch the skiers from your balcony/room, request that side. Otherwise, the other side...

My husband and I went to Breckenridge for Laor Day weekend. We stayed at One Ski Hill Place and we were happy that we did. This resort, quiet for a holiday weekend, but that may be because it only has 88 units. If I saw 12 other guests the entire three days that was a lot! In some ways it was too quite, but in others it was great. The service was attentive and professional and friendly. E accommodations were beautiful. We had alone bedroom unit it had a full kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances including a gas cook top. We never cooked, after all we wherein vacation, but had we wanted to it would have been easy. The view from our room was of the conticental divide (facing east). The amenities at One Ski Hill Place are what you expect from a Rock Resort. Our only meal there was blast and the steel cut oatmealm was excellent. Turn down service and the free shuttle into town was excellent! When we were there each evening there were moose sightings just up the road from the resort, so we asked the shuttle driver if he could drive up there to see the moose. It was great. We will come back in the winter to ski and we will stay here! It is right at the bottom of Peak 8 and there is a gondola that takes you down to town (that is if you don't want to ride the free shuttle). Another word about the shuttle, it is efficient and takes you exactly where you want to go and one phone call and they are on there way to pick you up! Great service.

Room Tip: You can select between a view looking east toward the continental divide or west over the ski slopes...

One Ski Hill is a luxury condo/resort that is very nice. We loved our condo facing the slopes (fun park in summer). It was very clean, beds were super comfortable as were linens. The baths and kitchen are high end. Housekeeping was average. Furniture is so so, couch hard and fabrics a bit too commercial grade. The deck is huge although it could use a little more furniture. The fun park located on site is great for the kids but it's really nice to escape back into the building away from all the chaos outside to the relaxing atmosphere inside One Ski Hill. The gondola and/or shuttle are perfect for transportation into town, again nice to go there but even nicer to return! Experience with staff was below average for a property that is a Rock Resort. I have been to other Rock Resorts and was surprised at the low level of knowledge and laissez faire attitude of the employees. They were nice, just uninformed and often times missing (like the valet or the front desk attendant). Many times i called "courtesy connect" to ask for my car and no one answered. I asked the concierge about a bike ride and whether there was a detour on it or not (Breck to Frisco path) and she assured me there wasn't. There was, of course, and it did add time to the ride which makes a difference when you are riding with 3 children. While on this call, I asked for suggestions for lunch in Frisco. She was unsure as to whether the restaurant names she gave me were open for lunch. Really? The concierge? How about offering to call me back with the answers? Again, staff was pleasant, just lacked training/competency. Btw, bowling alley is fun and a nice complimentary activity to do on site. I wanted to eat while bowling and inquired about what our dining options were while bowling. Front desk told me I could bring in whatever I wanted. When we arrived at the "mine shaft" we saw a sign next to the phone that said room service was available. There was no room service menu to be found....One night before dinner we stopped at the bar for a drink. They were closed due to a private function (business meeting on site). We could not get a drink nor could you eat in the restaurant if you so chose that night. That's absurd. A resort has dining options....and this is a Rock Resort. When we return to Breck next summer, I will most likely stay at One Ski Hill again and would certainly recommend it to friends but there are definite areas of improvement that could be made at this resort. Perhaps because they are only 2 years old they are still working with staff or have experienced high turnover?

Room Tip: I booked a 2 bedroom unit and was pleasantly surprised that it was a 2 bdrm with office that had a m...

We stayed this summer as we planned a weekend getaway mostly to visit the Fun Park with our 2 sons (age 4, 6). I knew it was close, but didn't realize it was RIGHT out the back door of the hotel! We arrived and didn't move our car for the whole weekend, so it was perfect and so relaxing. The gondola (free) is right out the side door of the hotel and takes you to and from downtown Breck, and though it closes at 6 pm, the hotel's shuttle will come and get you anywhere. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to see a giant crane right outside our window--they were doing roof repairs. I called down to the front desk to see if they could move us to another room with a quieter, better view. Within a few minutes they called back and informed us they upgraded us from a 1 BDR to a 2BDR. The room was totally gorgeous, huge, sitting area, full dining area, full kitchen with brand new appliances, washer/dryer, etc. We were able to cook the majority of our meals there, which was helpful considering the food at the Fun Park was ridiculously high priced ($4 for a rice krispie treat, for example). The linens were awesome, the beds comfortable, showers great too. It rained, so we used our "break" from the fun park to go bowling in the hotel's 2 lanes (free)--really fun. We did not swim but stopped in the pool area and it also looked great, even for little kids. The room was totally quiet and enjoyable, with every amenity to feel like home. Overall, I would love to stay here again, even though it was pretty pricey (and even more so in ski season, no doubt). But the location was fantastic as were the rooms and services. It also looked like the kids' ski school meets right out the back door, which would be wonderful in the winter.

Overall it is a very clean attractive place to stay. The location is very good as it is right next to the gondola which you can jump on all day for free. The valet parking is also free at the resort. The fun park is behind the resort which would be great for a family.
The indoor pools are nice but there is not an outdoor pool, just a large hot tub with a unattractive view. It is hard to relax outdoors because of the fun park behind the resort.
We loved our room! The bowling alley was great but you must make reservations because there is only two lanes. They have a media room but the seating is very uncomfortable (not movie seats). Your better off watching in your room.

We stayed in a two bedroom condo that overlooked the Breckenridge Fun Park. Rooms were large and nice. Beds were super comfy. Kitchen stocked with essentials (pots, pans, dinnerware, utensils, etc). In room washer/dryer was a big help.

All the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. Only two complaints, and they are minor: the cleaning staff was a bit slow. One one day, it literally took the guy cleaning our unit three hours to complete the service...and not because we were messy, he was just really slow...extremely thorough, but slow.
Second, the resort has a two-lane bowling alley that guests can reserve free-of-charge. We reserved it 3x during our stay. The first night, we had it all to ourselves. The next two times, a group of 8+ had also reserved a lane. Both times those groups acted like they were told they were to have both lanes and complained constantly that we were intruding. We felt like the front desk could have done a better job with booking the lanes. The thing is, when you call to reserve the lane they don't ask how many are in your group. I assume they go by the number registered to your unit. So if these other groups are inviting people from other rooms or whatever, the person booking has no clue because they don't ask.

But those were minor complaints. Not even really complaints, just annoyances. Over all, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning!!
