“Definitely a Saloon for beer and whiskey”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We visited after reading that the Gold Pan had changed their food menu and we wanted to try it. We went there on a Friday evening before dinner for a drink and were planning on staying for dinner if we liked it. It is an old saloon, which is ok with us. The bartender said they were out of wine, the shipment just came in and the white wine had not been chilled, probably not a wine place. They had a nice selection of whiskey's. We asked about a margarita and she said yes she could not make a frozen one, they didn't have a blender so we said ok, on the rocks was fine. We then asked to see a food menu and she said the kitchen closed at 6 pm on a Friday night. So we had our margarita's and left to find dinner. If we return it would be for lunch, the dining room is off to the side and it looked fine. Not very impressed if they have their dining room closed on a Friday night during tourist season.

“Could be nice...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

After reading a bunch of reviews about the Gold Pan - we made the decision to give it a try. After walking down and going to the bar to get some food at 7:00, we were told that the kitchen was closed. Wish we could have tried it out, but instead enjoyed one $4 beer and hit the pavement..

On a positive - the bar is really neat and the bartender was very friendly. Would really like to give this place a try sometime!

“Move the pool table!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

Nice for a beer during the winter as they've an old cast iron fire. But they really do need to move the pool table back to where it was before. In the other room.

“Great local bar in Breckenridge. A must for late night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We stopped in to the Gold Pan twice while staying in Breckenridge for three days. We are two 30-something couples and found the Gold Pan to be a nice local dive bar. Good drinks and the bartenders definitly seemed to know what they were doing. Late night, this seems to be the place. Good music and good drink specials. The place seemed a little dirty (especially the bathrooms) but this is expected from a dive bar. Pretty sure this is an institution in Breck, a must go on Main.
