“Terrible Customer Service Experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

We unknowingly booked a "non-refundable rate" (in the fine print) and we needed to cancel and they refused to work with us. The general manager was especially awful to deal with. Avoid at all costs. In addition, the corporate customer service was terrible as well. We will never stay at another Holiday Inn Express due to this experience.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

All Holiday Inn Brands hotels such as the Holiday Inn Express are currently running a promotional discount also known as the Book Early and Save Rate. This reservation type is lower in price than our average Best Flexible Rate, but it does have restrictions that are presented to the guests several times throughout the booking process. One of the conditions associated to this lower rate is that you can not change or cancel a reservation once it is booked.

In order to complete a booking of a Book Early and Save reservation you must check a box conforming that you both understand and agree to these terms.

Furthermore, this policy is also stated on the conformation you receive prior to your arrival.

The Holiday Inn Express Boulder values your business. Please feel free to contact me directly for your next reservation and I will personally assists with any reservation needs.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

Every time I entered or exited the hotel during my 3 days stay, I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff.

My room had a kitchenette, which was very useful. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was much better than most hotels. The WiFi worked well.

There are some hiking trails just up the street, but otherwise you need to get in the car and drive to everything. The hotel is not situated within walking distance of bars or restaurants (with the exception of a stripper bar). The hotel seemed to be completely booked during my stay.

There is only one computer in the lobby. When I was using it to print out my boarding pass, another hotel guest came up and said "are you using that computer"? Pretty obvious I was using it, but since there is only one printer for all the guests.....you can't use the computer at length.

The "fitness room" was very minimal and did not even have any weights.

Thank you for complementing our staff and facilities! We believe it is important to treat every guest with a warm smile and a accommodating attitude.

The Holiday Inn Express is located in North Boulder or more commonly known "NoBo". NoBo is rapidly growing with new restaurants, local shops, coffee houses, and bakeries just steps from the hotel.

Furthermore, we are currently working with a company that delivers from many local restaurants ranging from sushi to local pub food. This allows the connivence of experiencing the local flavor from the comfort of your own room.

Although our fitness room does not include free weights, we do offer many other work out facilitates such as a treadmill, a elliptical, and a stationary bike. We are also located just a steps away from a fully equipped gym for any other work out needs.

Have stayed at the Boulder HIE a few times over the past 3 years, last time being April, 2012. You can read the other reviews and see that the property is on the north side of Boulder and a short drive from all the main Boulder pubs/eateries/shopping.

The area near the hotel is becoming more urbanized every time I go back with a condo/eat/drink area continuing to expand along Broadway within walking distance south of the hotel. Also, I highly recommend the Upslope Brewery about 1/4 mile east of the hotel off Lee in an small industrial building complex. Great microbrew!

The hotel itself is clean, staff friendly, rooms nice, typical HIE breakfast fare. The price for the rooms is an excellent value for Boulder if you hit the off season, but more than doubles on some weekends during the ski/summer seasons.

The location is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars, however, again, it is a 15 min drive to everything in Boulder.

Room Tip: Get a room on the west side with a balcony - away from the possible noise of Broadway St that fronts...

Thank you for your review of the Holiday Inn Express Boulder. We pride ourselves on our friendly staff and our wide range amenities. Whether it's the hot tub or seasonal pool, our 24hr fitness center, or the free hot, continental breakfast, our goal is to make any trip a vacation.

As you mentioned in your review, the Holiday Inn Express is located North Boulder or "NoBo" which is rapidly growing with new restaurants, businesses, and is fast becoming "the place to be". Who doesn't love being closely located to so many local business such as a brewery or coffee shop! Thanks again for your review and we look forward to your next visit.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2012

This hotel is located on the main road north of the heart of Boulder. It is clean and convenient to everything. It isn't the nicest or newest Holiday Inn Express that I've stayed at before, but it was more than adequate and met our needs. It is slightly expensive for what you get, but, hey, it's Boulder - everything in Boulder tends to be slightly expensive. We stayed here one night, had a good night's sleep, a good breakfast (love the cinnamon rolls) and were on our way the next day. You can walk to a fantastic local pizza/italian joint called Proto's which is just a few minutes away by foot. I would love to eat there again! It was really windy the night we stayed so we drove there. Fresh food and great ingredients! Yummy pizza and local beer. I highly recommend Proto's - you don't need to drive anywhere else for quality food.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Brendan was the desk clerk we met on our late arrival and he was most accommodating to our requests. We rented the executive 2 room suite with the ski package to Eldora and it saved us a ton a money. The free beakfast was delicious and they provided a wide variety of things to eat. The staff was very cordial and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again. This is one of Boulder's best kept secrets! Kudos to the manager and staff at the Holiday Inn Express!

Room Tip: The executive two room suite provided plenty of room for all 4 of us.

This is clean, comfortable hotel to stay at while visiting Boulder. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Basic morning complimentary breakfast, still nice. The price was reasonable for Boulder. Would stay here again.
