I came to the Boulderado after fleeing a budget place elsewhere in Boulder that was beyond awful. The difference was like night and day. They literally "had me at hello." The front desk staff was very pleasant. My room in the annex was a little awkward to get to (you had to go up a level, across a skyway, and then back down again) but they had a bellhop who was very nice.
The room was decorated in a Victorian style which I would never have in my house, but went well with the turn of the last century mood of the place. I've stayed in rooms in Manhattan that were only slightly larger than the bathroom in my room at the Boulderado. There was also a wet bar with fridge, free bottled water, and chocolates at night. Everything was pristine clean and very quiet. My room was behind the elevator but I never heard it.
The room cost more than my employer's per diem rate, but I was glad to bear the extra expense myself to get into this hotel. The location is great, the service is pleasant, and the rooms are beautiful and quiet. .
