“It's pretty much what Boulder is all about”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

Can't miss these 5 rock faces when you pull into town. There is a park just past campus where you can access the main trails to the Flatirons. The trails lead to all parts of the range and you will see hikers of all types mixed in with casual walkers taking in the views. The trails are pretty serious stuff and require decent dexterity and coordination to manage, not to mention a stomach for heights, but the views are superb and worth the effort

“Flatirons specatular part of the foothills”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

The Flatirons are beautiful from Boulder and surrounding roads. We spontaneously decided to hike up to see them. However, I would suggest being dressed appropriately depending on the time of year the winds can get strong. Be sure to take at least some water. The hike is really fairly easy, and at the start there is a paved walk, which is nice for those that can't or don't want to go the full distance. Worth the hike, it is a spectacular piece of scenery and even better when you take time to look at all the changing scenery and colors. Beautiful!!!

“View 'em. Do 'em.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

You can view the Flatirons from below in town, from above or the side along roads into the foothills, or from the Flatirons themselves, on trails or the like.

Boulder has had an admirable policy of protecting as much of its natural heritage as possible. Fortunately, this has had considerable success.

“Flatirons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

The views and scenery are spectacular. Incredible feeling being in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. You can see the Flatirons from all over Boulder and surroundings, but being up there is to step back in time.

“Incredible!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

This was our first hike (we live at sea level) and we braved it in the cold temperatures in early December. With a little determination and warm clothes, this is a conquerable hike and the feeling of accomplishment when you reach the top is amazing! Head out early and be ready with water and some snacks because you will want to stay for a few hours. You will have some beautiful pictures to show your friends back home.
